I think God knows I'm an Atheist because I keep getting his propaganda.

Ok, here's a peice of religious propaganda which have landed on my doormat recently. I'm getting a hell of a lot of it at the moment. This peice amused me but also disgusted me. I'm actually going to bother typing them out. Here goes:

If only we had remembered...!

(Small picture of a yacht on a calm sea here)

The beautiful yacht left the French harbour on that early morning in the late 1990's, with its four passengers aboard, truly expecting a pleasant day's sailing as they encountered a magnificent sunrise and a sea of glass.

As there was hardly any wind, it was pointless putting up the sail, so with gentle hum of the engine, they travelled about 3 miles before allowing the yacht to come to a gentle stop.

It was agreed by the owner, his wife and the couple who were with them, that a swim would be a most pleasant way to spend an hour.

Five minutes later, dressed in their swimsuits, four splashes were heard as they dived into the calm, inviting sea.

After a most enjoyable swim around the yacht, the owner made his way to the stern of the boat, where, to his horror he discovered that he had not lowered the ladder to enable him to climb aboard.

He then called the others to come, who on hearing the distress of his voice, returned immediately.

They were shocked to be told that he did not know of any possible way to get back on board the yacht.

The smooth glass-like sides only seemed to mock them and although the two men tried lifting one of the wives onto the stern, after several hours, exhausted by their efforts, they just lay floating in the shade of the yacht, conserving the little energy they had left, hoping and praying the small boats they could see passing would come near and help - but nobody came!

By mid-afternoon, thirsty and desperate, their situation was hopeless. They called - they shouted - they cried -and as the sun moved towards the western horizon, one by one they drifted away, until only one woman managed to remain conscious.

Suddenly, she saw two men looking down on her from a small boat, who seeing her plight, pulled her on board. After sipping a little water, she related the sad story of the ladder that was not left down!

Shortly after, while the men were calling for emergency assistance from shore, she too, completely exhausted passed away.

To read such a sad story of four souls who were so near to safety, yet not reaching it, would cause me to ask, "Are you so sure you are in the place of safety, having stepped onto the ladder of Divine mercy, which has been left down from Heaven to reach the most sinful of men?"

"Have you accepted God's offer of free salvation, paid for in the violent death of God's eternal Son upon a cross of anguish - when He offered Himself, a sinless sacrifice, to silence the voice of Divine justice against every believing sinner?"

When the yacht returned to the harbour with the three other bodies, which had been retrieved from the water, many people stood watching, sobered and saddened that such a tragedy could occur due to the neglect of such a small matter.

"How shall we escape, if we neglect such great salvation?" (Hebrews 3 v 2)

"Son - Remember..." was said to one man, when it was too late to be put right... now he must bear the wrath of God eternally. (Luke 16)

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16 v 31)

Let your cry be one of the repentant dying thief, "LORD - REMEMBER me when" not if but when, "Thous comest into Thy kingdom." (Luke 23 v 42)

Weary of earth, and laden with my sin,

I look at the heavan, and long to enter in'

But there no evil thing may find a home,

And yet I hear a voice that bids me "come!"

So vile I am, how dare I hope to stand

In the pure glory of that holy land?

Before the whiteness of the throne appear?

Yet there are hands stretched out to draw me near,

Yea, Thou wilt answer for me, righteour Lord;

Thine all the merits, mine the great reward;

Thine the sharp thorns, and mine the golden crown,

Mine the life won, and Thine the life laid down.

Serves them right for

Serves them right for jumping off a f*cking boat into the ocean with no life jackets. You don't need God to have the sense to practice good boating safety.

Nobody I know was brainwashed into being an atheist.

Why Believe?

Well lets see, we have a

Well lets see, we have a crackbaby stupid non sequitor, and the shameless exploitation of a tale of true suffering (assuming the tale is real, of course) which if anything speaks volumes of the hyenas who used it in the first place, and of course there's the needlessly wordy story and poorly thought-out after preaching, and then we have some dumbass motherfuckers who instead of being too damn busy drooling with the thought of their upcoming sea orgy should have had the mental capacity of lowering the stupid ladder, so yeah, serves 'em right!

And yet all of this doesn't bother me, we see this kind of shit everyday, both here and in our lives (all but the sea orgies, which is a shame really), what really bothers me is this: where's Gilligan? There was a Skipper, the Howells, possibly Ginger, but where the fuck is Gilligan? and The Professor and Mary Ann?

Lenore, The Cute Little Dead Girl. Twice as good as Jesus.

I thought personally it was

I thought personally it was disgraceful how they used this tragedy (I dunno whether its true or not) to promote their cause with a very bad analogy. However, the serves 'em right comments to the boaters I think is a bit harsh, I can imagine making similarly stupid mistakes, I forget things all the time, just not that life threateningly. The moral really is, don't trust forgetful people with boats.

Obviously they didn't bother

Obviously they didn't bother to anchor it either or they could have used the anchor chain. I'm going to have to have a good look at some boats to see how many are actually impossible to climb onto. They always get on board in the spy movies with no trouble at all.

Typical christians using tradgedy and fear to sell their goods. Of course only works if you pray to the correct god.

"Davey locked himself in his fortress-like house leaving his keys outside and he hadn't done the shopping or paid the phone bill. He starved to death. If only he had believed in Jesus."

What crap!

Zen-atheist wielding Occam's katana.

Jesus said, "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division." - Luke 12:51
