Root of all Evil
Not the Dawkins one, the Lewis Black one...
Saw the first episode this last week, did anyone else see it?
Catholic Church versus Opera
I thought it was a lot less funny than I thought it would be when I first heard about it. I really like Lewis Black but most of this wasn't him it was his 2 presenters. The Catholic arguer basically just kept focusing on sex with boys which was kind of annoying, and didn't really hit the big problems with the church hard.
Anyways, curious what other people thought that did see it.

Yeah. I also watched Trump vs. Viagra. This week should be good since it will be
Perhaps we are expecting too much since it is only 1/2 hour and Greg Giraldo. He should probably stick to roasts.
It is my sincerest hope that the audience for the 'beer vs. weed' night breaks ratings records. Personally, I'd like to see a tie for 'root of all evil' between the two.

We watched it. I think it's a great format, and obviously Lewis Black r00lz.
I watched the first episode, the catholic church vs. oprah one, and I couldn't get into it. The show just isn't funny in my opinion. The arguments are terrible (though I guess that's to be expected) and the jokes are rather cliche or otherwise predictable. That and the whole court theme gets annoying in places. Kind of a shame since I really like Lewis Black.
I caught the first episode and was kind of disappointed. I like Lewis Black, very funny man btw, but not very funny overall. I don't think there is a funnier atheist jew on tv.

I think the show has some potential, and I really hope it does get better. Few things make me happier than Back in Black on the Daily Show, and his stand-up is a riot.
Lewis Black is great in small doses especially on the daily show, but to stretch him out as a moderator with two of comedy central's regular comics telling jokes on a specific topic under the guise of arguing a point seems like it could have promise once they get the format honed a little more. As it was, there were a few funny moments like interviewing those kids about schools and ipods, but overall it was less than stellar. To be fair, I thought Colbert's first couple weeks were kinda lame, but he now kicks out top notch political satire consistently so maybe they will mature with a few more shows under their belt.
