I'll start:

At a roller rink, I complained to the manager about the backwards lyrics in the satanic music he was playing.

Next. Smiling

I think almost everything I

I think almost everything I did while in high school could fall under this heading.  I played in a Christian Rock band.  That in itself is bad enough.   I'll leave it there for the moment.  I'm not giving away my worst secrets this easily.

And to me... playing in a Christian Rock band would have been enough reason for my NWO to remove you genes from our pool... so i'd hate to know of these "worst secrets"

Oh boy! Can I win?Also

Oh boy! Can I win?

  • Also believed the backwards thing in music
  • Believed that succesful musicians sold their souls and allowed curses to be put in the backround.ALL succesful muiscians,ie Backstreet Boys included.
  • Believed the devil was a physical entity and every other religion directly praised him even if they didn't realise it.
  • Believed the bible was the innerant word of god and was completley flawless. I thought nothing had ever been shown wrong in it.
  • Went through a period of being wary of our pets because I was told demons could posses them and watch me.
  • Believed absolutley any book written by ex-satanists/witches which may have included werewolves and being the bride if satan.
  • Only listened to christian music, even then I was disdainful of a lot of it that I felt didn't glorify god enough.
  • Would only even consider dating girls who were hardcore christians.
  • Gave away lots of money to tithe (damn)
  • Believed the bible was suffiecient proof of god's existence.
  • Believed Linkin Park was the most satanic band in the world, that satan himself wrote their lyrics, and that they sacrificed people to him.

Probably alot more I'll think of later..

Was never particularly

Was never particularly religious, I believed in that backward music/heavy metal being satanic thing until I was 11 or 12. I once when I was about 8 or 9 and riding my bike had the Christian couple that came up to me to talk come to many of my friends houses to give them their shit. They asked me if there was anyone I knew that didn't believe in God - I told them 2 kids that picked on me. One wasn't home, the other they asked me to leave and talked to him - he was about a year older and playing soccer. Years later he told me about it and that they sat there talking to him for 2 HOURS! I actually thought that was pretty funny - he was still an asshole.

That I'd call narrow perspective, compared to some black and death metal bands linkin park are a bunch of nuns.

Ya I know,I listen to some of those bands now. I have no idea why LP was selected to be so bad, but my friend said it so I just believed it

I once stole all my mom's

I once stole all my mom's garlic powder from the cupboard on Halloween and sprinkled it over every entrance to the house, believing that it would prevent evil spirits from coming in. I also had a large cross over my bedroom door, believing that evil spirits could not pass the threshold with the cross over it. I remember flipping out after I watched a video on the evils of weegie boards at church. I told my parents that they opened the door to hell, and that we needed to burn any in the house.

My mother was pretty wack

My mother was pretty wack with ouija boards and stuff. We also couldn't watch most of the cartoons on tv, as they were evil. She wasn't too happy about my brother being a star wars fan. She went around the four corners of the house praying to protect it from demonic attack.

She's pretty crazy IMO

I was a Jehovah's Witness,

I was a Jehovah's Witness, and went door-to-door preaching the good news of God's coming kingdom, which I though, at the time, would come by the year 2000.

When I was a kid I thought that the smurfs were demonic and stopped watching them.

I thought that rap music, heavy metal, television, movies, and books that weren't written by the watchtower bible and tract society were controled by Satan.

If I saw anything that was a "temptation", I thought that Satan planted it there just for me.

I once thought I was a prophet or something, because I was born in 1975, which was a year prophecied by the watchtower society as the end of the world (which didn't come, in case you haven't figured that one out).

I used to defend the idea of creationism.

I used to defend Noah's Flood.

I once was freaked out because my radio started playing "weird" music when the alarm went off, and I thought it was possessed and threw the radio away.

I once prayed during a thunder storm and thought God was angry with me.

...There's probably more, but I can't think of them right now.

When I was a kid I used to

When I was a kid I used to pray during bad thunderstorms and thought the storm ending was because I prayed - whther it lasted a couple of minutes or over an hour.

 This is the most amazing

This is the most amazing thread I've ever seen. I was once on a christian site, and they had a forum title very similar to this one, only it read "anyone care to share their conversion story?"

How many posts do you figure that one had? 100? 200?

Five.

It had been up for six months.

I helped organize a "March

I helped organize a "March for Jesus".

Let people force me to knell.

Let people lay their hands on me to get me to speak in tongues.

I told someone "I can see Christ in you" and "Jesus loves you".

Got baptized in a hot tub.

Went without sex for 3 years, while trying not to kill any kittens.

I did the stupid tithing

I did the stupid tithing thing ... while I was a starving student living on peanut butter and Top Ramen.

I think the smarter thing would have been to use that money to ... oh, I don't know .. buy FOOD!!!!!!!

I hope the Crystal Cathedral is grateful for my malnurished sacrifice.

Geez, I feel retarded now. Why'd you have to go and remind me of my embarrassing past?

Okay, this is going to be

Okay, this is going to be fun...

When I was a Christian, I prayed to God while I was playing video games. It went something like, "Please, God, let me beat it this time." "Please, just let me kill them!" "DAMN IT!"

This may have gone on for an hour. Sometimes I didn't even beat the mission I was stuck on until a few days later. I still thanked God. (This later made me think...why would he answer my prayers for a video game and not for starving children in Africa?)

Let's see...I also thought atheists were under the control of the devil. I thought that they were put here to test our faith, and that, when the antichrist rose to power, I would have to go into hiding because they would kill all of the Christians. Laughing out loud No lie!

Oh I was a little bit crazy with the whole Armageddon thing. I spend HOURS at a time on my computer looking up stuff...looking for timelines...for signs that the end is truly coming. I think that this was actually my first sign of questioning...I just didn't realize it.

I also believed that global warming was a sign. Why? Well, it's getting warmer...and the world is supposed to end in fire. Laughing out loud At least I wasn't a COMPLETE moron...

I was so paranoid about accidentally getting the mark of the beast. Of course, everytime one of those programs came on about  future cashless societys and implants we'd be all 'satan!'

I really imagined fending for myself in the wilderness while everyone went around buying food with their marks and worshipping the antichrist.

I was utterly terrified of a

I was utterly terrified of a nuclear war happening from about 1983 to the late '80s (when it became much les likely.) Especially since it seemed at the time like Reagan wanted there to be one. I used to have nightmares about it all the time -  anything from knowing it was on the way to living in the aftermath (I was more scared of surviving one than dying in one) to one I clearly remember of being at my grandparents house when the Emergency Broadcasting System comes on and seeing my mom crying. Anyway my parents knew I was scared shitless and treid to tell me if the Russians launched Jesus would come back and stop them. Needless to say, I wasn't convinced. Of course I didn't realize at the time they were even more afraid than we were.
