Beginning of the End... of the World... May 19th
(if your not a gamer, i doubt you'll understand this)
Im not much of a doomsayer, but i think i will attempt to hold that title for a mere 5 days
Ok, so i say the end of the world will make itself apparent on May 19th
How so?
Well, the fate of the world rests in the hands of 1 company on that day, and their decision will forever affect mankind.
Regardless of said companies choice... South Korea will be in shambles, if the decision is Yes, Koreas economy will cease to exist in a mere 5 years (along with several other major countries), and generations of children will forever be controlled. If the decision is No, then Korea will rip its self apart in a matter of minutes with mass rioting.
Im using Korea as my example, because it will be the epicenter
Now then... what is going to happen?
I can pretty much some it up with this one sentence...
Blizzard will announce on May 19th, whether or not it is making "World of Starcraft"
Ya... told you im not much of a doomsayer >.> and sure the world wont end... but Korea will for sure ^_^

awh crap did i ever destroy that joke >.< wheres my edit button!
i completely agree that is enough to cause the world to end... they are going to makr a diablo 3 i can garantee that they are making a diablo 3 since they bought the website off the original owners... warcraft is addictve enough we really don't need the starcraft at the moment.lol!!!
Fuck Blizzard.
I mean, I can't wait for D3 or for WoS, but Blizzard fucking sucks. You know that court battle they've entered into over cheating on WoW and that company Glider? Fuck them, the stupid bastards -Blizzard, that is.
I can't find a link about their lawsuit, but really, I love D2:LOD and a D3 would really make my world a happier place.

Well since its the announcement on the decision on whether or not they will make Wo$... if they do decide a YES then it will be at minimum 6 years production... so "at the moment" is out of the picture.
Ive decided to do some reading up on this, and... im with blizzard, so is the law, its pretty open and shut
That and cheaters/botters/farmers must die -_-
Will it have repercussion on the industry down the road? yup... but what doesnt?
What Would Kharn Do?
I don't think you understand the full ramifications of this then.
It's a violation of copyright to even use the game (copy it to ram) and a programme that reads the code and allows someone to 'cheat' is a violation of the EULA?
I fail to see where the law supports Blizzard. It does not. Gamers are typically treated as owners not license holders.
By what authority does Blizzard presume to ignore the apparent copyright violation of using the game, but to honour the law when the user uses a programme that allows the user to 'cheat'?
They should have pursued a different type of lawsuit.
Honestly, I should care less about this, because it doesn't affect me in my country, but the very principle of it is what infuriates me. What about modding a game? What about editing its code for yourself? What about making a backup copy? Will police now check in on gamers to ensure they're not violating the law? It's just ridiculous. And what about if this end in other companies pursuing gamers as license holders and not owners? This is a terrible way to go and I hope Blizzard looses this.
Edit: If you can't deal with cheaters, you're a wuss. Do cheater's really affect the game play that badly? Blizzard already has a detector that eliminates the most annoying cheats and cheaters from the game, and you're not obligated to interact with anyone who's cheating. If it's affecting the in game economy, blizzard needs to find a way to deal with that, not persecute people. I'd like them to find a way to fix the trading that goes on in LOD, but it just isn't going to happen. What this appears to me to be is a copout by Blizzard. The lawsuit isn't even lucrative for them.

i think ill use the creator of Giders own words
"What took them so long?"
Reverse engineered, illegally altered, then sold for PROFIT. Thats why blizzards targeting him, sure i laugh at the lengths they're going to but i have a soft spot for overkill
edit; shit... its just business as usual ^_^
What Would Kharn Do?
I understand why they're going after them, I just think a different lawsuit would have been preferable to the the one they are pursuing. It is overkill and it is funny, (the lengths they are going to are laughable) but I worry about the world they'll create if they win.
Anyhow, I like that company, though I do get suspicious when the developers of Diablo break away and make another game. Hellgate: London is supposed to be good, but I really have no time for video games, not that I wouldn't love a D3 or a WoS.
