Anybody else a-social?

I am, I rarely go out to social functions even with family and friends and even when I do, I just sit there. When people want to go out clubbing or whatever, I just stay home. I only have one friend that I regularly socialize with and I pretty much distance myself with anybody else.

I rarely even talk to my parents, or my class-mates, or co-workers etc...

Anybody else like this?

I think maybe part of the problem is a rational thinkers, we can see through a lot of the phoniness of social situations. Just as we've seen the phoniness of religion and religious leaders. There are a lot of users that will act nice and friendly then stab you in the back at the appropriate moment.

I think we need to see finding friendship/relationships like finding gold, there is a lot fools gold, a lot of scammers telling you there are the real deal. I think you got to keep looking in a lot of places and not give up. Walk the fine line between being open to new relationships while keeping your guard up against users and abusers. It would be nice if the atheist/freethinking community was more organized so you could meet more people where ever you lived.

I have two people I would actually consider friends.  Luckily for me, one is an atheist and the other is a deist.  It would really suck if I hadn't meet them in junior high, as most people where I live would be thinking "OMG atheist devil worshiper!" if I told them I was an atheist.  Even the students at my community college.

If so, can I get some? I get some nasty hiccups every once in a while and apparently that stuff can cure 'em.

Oh, yes it cures hiccups.  It also cures facial expression, fluid body movement, and the ability to live a normal life   ....other than that it's super dooper !

I 'm bloody shy. I don't

I 'm bloody shy. I don't make friends easily. I wish I did. I love being alone and being in company equally, but being alone is easier. It's the fear I tells you!! The dreaded fear!! Damn and curse it! Curse and damn it!!

People often judge others by how many friends they have. It it right to use that sorta criteria? Maybe the reason I am short on buddies isn't because I suck, but because I'm shy? Bastards. I actually really enjoy that feeling of connecting with another human being. Or a few others. It's quite fantastic. But when I enter a crouded room, the fear centre in my brain starts doing push ups. Son of a bitch.

It's intersring to see alot of others here feel similar... not the same, but similar. I wonder why that is.

Wish in one hand, shit in the other, see which one fills up first.

This is one of the many memes floating around the society I live in which I dislike.  Sure some people that don't have a lot of friends are in that position because they're assholes and drive all their friends away.  But, there are also some really awesome people that don't have a lot of friends for one reason or another.

This site is, seemingly, a testament to this possibility. Or genuinely cool people with few friends. It better be, or I'll spit nails at you.
