This reminds me of a funny story that happened to me once.
I had a big ol' truck, a '65 Ford F250 ("with twin I-beam suspension -- tell your friends!" ). This truck was BIG, at least for me. I drove that thing everywhere. What did I care that it only got 12 miles to the gallon? Gas was only $1.25.
Aaaanyway, I went out to start it one day. It turned over, caught once, and died. Tried it again -- same thing. I pull out the spark plug, crank it over -- lots of spark, big beautiful blue arcs of spark, but it still wasn't catching. I cranked a few more times. No gas smell.
I pulled the carb, tore it apart (which I'd done a couple of times before; old cars and trucks, you know). I found the "bug." It was a BIG FAT FUCKIN' COCKROACH! That's right -- a cockroach had crawled up inside the carb, blocking the floats.
A cockroach had stopped a truck.
