Recorded sound of HELL? *Warning: disturbing*

A group of 'scientists' in Siberia recorded the actual sounds of people screaming in Hell:

Such an experiment is very

Such an experiment is very easily repeatable, so the lack of verification just shows how little credit anybody gives the fable.

On another note (derail time), when I saw the subject of this thread I actually thought you were going to be talking about this article.

Quote:
The Scream Aliens Hear From the Earth

"Astronomers have discovered that the Earth emits awful, ear-piercing chirps and whistles that could be heard by any aliens who might be listening, according to an article up at Space.com. The sounds are created by charged particles from the solar wind colliding with Earth's magnetic field. This article explains more about the sounds and links to an audio recording of it."

My first thought was actually " Cool, earth really IS hell! Sticking out tongue "

Organised religion is the ultimate form of blasphemy.

I got a good chuckle from the tape several years ago when I first heard it.  Damn Christian terrorists and their imposition of fear on others, even if they have to do it dishonestly in order to bring new brainwashed drones into the fray.

I'm not sure I agree with the term "christian terrorists" But it sure sounds funny.

Siberia is a mysterious

Siberia is a mysterious place.  All my life...and long before...folks have been threatened with being 'sent to Siberia' in shows and movies.

Is that why this audio is set in such a place?  It already has a folklore and negative feelings around it...now it's really close to Hell!  Nobody in their right mind would head up to HellBeria to contest these 'scientists'.

It must be true.

Wait a second. Hell is only

Wait a second. Hell is only 4.4 km below the surface of the earth? If we can drill that far down already, shouldn't we be drilling right now on a rescue mission to get those people out of there?

The story is an urban legend. I heard the tape was actually recorded from a scene from a porno movie that took place in hell.

But then all hell would break loose.

I think we can solve the world's energy crisis by harnessing the heat of hell. There must be some type of fusion reaction going on to keep temperature up so high. But by taking away some of the heat, we'll piss Jesus off since he likes to keep the torture level extremely high for everyone that doesn't 'love' him.

That's it...I'm accepting

That's it...I'm accepting jesus as my personal lord and savior!

C'mon, it sounds like some sort of rally...they could have made it sound a lot scarier by adding some "oh my god's", and "god help me's"...maybe some gurgling, a few male screams rather than just female's. Amateurs.

terrorism
noun
the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear

Hell is a threat of violence, the tape is meant to intimidate and coerce you into allegiance to god, and it's religious in nature.  Welcome to terrorism.

I think that's hilarious if it was from a porno movie - think of all these Christians unknowingly posting something from a porno all over the internet!

Brings up an interesting question though. If you could free people from hell, would you feel morally obligated to do it? I know I would.

Even better question

If hell existed and you saved people from it, would god punish you for it?

If there was a Hell, like the Hell of the fundies...

absolutely  I'd feel obligated. Not only that, but I'd want to.

Guess it goes without saying that we'd be risking our lives, but

I couldn't stand around and not do anything.

Which leaves the question,

Which leaves the question, if we know that burning people for eternity is wrong, why doesn't God seem to know?

Christian morality = All morality = Might makes right

God can totally kick your ass and torture you forever and ever, so you better kiss his devine ass and pretend to love him. Fool the all knowing God.

If atheists discovered that anyone(including theists) were in a huge torture chamber, we'd try to rescue them. But if our theist 'friends' discovered we were in one, they'd love and worship the Being that put us there and say we deserve it.

Then, Theists tell us we need religion to give us morals about how to treat our fellow man. No thanks, we're doing just fine without religion.

i recall this "story" was

i recall this "story" was used to interesting effect as a radio news bulletin in larry charles's  wonderfully mind-fucking film "masked and anonymous," starring bob dylan.  the film is pretentious and makes no fucking sense but i can never resist its overall aesthetic.  just reading this brought jerry garcia's rendition of "senor (tales of yankee power)" into my head.

anybody else seen this movie?

"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright. . . . Or maybe 'stupid' is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. In a world as weird and cruel as this one we have made for ourselves, I figure anybody who can find peace and personal happiness without ripping off somebody else deserves to be left alone. They will not inherit the earth, but then neither will I. . . . And I have learned to live, as it were, with the idea that I will never find peace and happiness, either. But as long as I know there's a pretty good chance I can get my hands on either one of them every once in a while, I do the best I can between high spots."

Prefer the term Christo-Fascist myself. Or Godfearer.
