Art

Hi all. after seeing some of Iruka Naminori's art a while back, I was wondering what other artistic talents and skills the other RRS forumites have. So go on and share your favorite works of post up other peoples works you think would be good here.

I'm a musician in a metal

I'm a musician in a metal band. That's almost like art, right?

Heavy Metal, great art

Heavy Metal, great art indeed. My favorite joy was playing, painting progressive Metal. I've not been playing much for the last 3 yrs, not sure why, but my home is a lively music studio.

For sure. do you have a myspace page for your band? I love metal, been listening to it since I was 3 feet tall.

I was playing around today

I was playing around today at work and made this out of photo of a single leaf that I took last week.

Here's something I did a while back.

This is mostly just photography with a bit of PS work to complete the illusion.

I have many more but lets see some other's stuff.

Excellent work!  I like

Excellent work!  I like your pencil drawings.  Graphite is probably my favorite medium, but someone always says, "Now, if you just added some color..."

That's OK. Smiling  I understand. Color is great, but sometimes a piece of art is meant to be in monochrome...kind of like that big argument over colorizing black and white films.

I also enjoy singing:

As a perfectionist, I hear every mistake.  I have a hard time with recordings of myself for that reason. Smiling

Thanks, IGod,  since I have already started a topic about my art, it would be pointless to post here.

Since music is art, and most kinds of metal music are amazing, I'd say yes.

Those are all amazing, but this one I've seen at Deviantart and I think I had added it to my favorites.

Hell yeah.  Music is art. Smiling

Funny thing is, I've mostly studied classically, but I've learned to like heavy metal during the past four or five years.

Yeah, I've had the most experience with classical music.  I need to get back into my private lessons, but I got sick last year (chronic issues), lost my scholarship and had a blow-out with my voice teacher.  Yikes.  Interestingly, I just got off the phone with her.  I'm going to visit her in a couple of weeks and feel things out.

I definitely need to get back into voice and lose any bad habits I've gained.

However, it should be fun. Smiling

I'm working on a big color

I'm working on a big color picture of a Microraptor, but due to chronic health issues, I developed a bad case of the artistic equivalent of writers' block and haven't finished it.  It's too big to scan, so I'll have to take photos if I ever finish.

Here's a Utahraptor I didn't put in my other thread:

My band website is www.severedreign.ca There are a couple original songs there in the media section.

We also do an Iron Maiden tribute under the name '2 Minutes To Maiden'.  Here's a short video clip of the last half of 'Number Of The Beast'. I'm on the far right:

I have a few attempts for

I have a few attempts for art, mostly drawn when I was bored at school. I'm a fan of avantgarde, psychofuturistic art, or whatever is interesting. In fact, my avatar is an example of such an art.

Here's one of my drawn images, the rest is either unfinished, badly scanned, or rather big. Click for a greater version. You see, I was no master with a pencil, the paper wasn't very good too, but I hope I managed to catch into the image at least a bit of my phobia of worms and caterpillars. When I think of it now, I should had drawn a scared face on a side of that apple.

But I've been playing a lot with a succession, permutations, formulas, and scripting. I made a few programs, which could draw ornaments. They also could draw them animated, and it was a psychedelic mindblowing spectacle. Some patterns were really complicated and interesting.

This is my latest masterpiece. It's basically a svastica, and every it's branch has another, smaller svastica grown on it. Let's see what happens if you give it a few more iterations. I currently have it almost for a year as a desktop background.

And yeah, I like symbols, and I like a light-green color.

I made these shark-tooth

I made these shark-tooth necklaces last week.  The first three are from Carcharocles megalodon, the largest shark that ever lived.  These are teeth from juveniles.  The gold and grey teeth are 1 1/2 inches long.  The black tooth is 2 inches long.

The last necklace hosts three fossilized sand tiger (a.k.a. grey nurse) teeth.
