The Discovery Institute creates a textbook! Yay!
Oh, for fuck's sake.
The Discovery Institute has created a "supplementary textbook," one that may be used in Luisianna, at a minimum. This book, Explore Evolution, teaches kids all about macro- and micro-evolution, has a whole chapter on Behe's psuedo-scientific drivel, and otherwise mishes and mashes actual science into a tasty paste that is palatable to the fucked-up stomachs of creationists everywhere.
Why? Why doesn't God smite these evil bastards right fucking now? This is perfect evidence that God simply doesn't exist -- everyone who fights in His name seems to be a fucking evil bastard.
I really hate people.
"Yes, I seriously believe that consciousness is a product of a natural process. I find that the neuroscientists, psychologists, and philosophers who proceed from that premise are the ones who are actually making useful contributions to our understanding of the mind." - PZ Myers

John Trimmer of Ars Technica gave that little jem a review.
I don't want to give the ending away, but: He wasn't impressed.
"Anyone can repress a woman, but you need 'dictated' scriptures to feel you're really right in repressing her. In the same way, homophobes thrive everywhere. But you must feel you've got scripture on your side to come up with the tedious 'Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve' style arguments instead of just recognising that some people are different." - Douglas Murray
They could use it in a course titled "Science: How Not to Do It. "

You know the Discovery Institute would love to respell evolution to evilution.
All I know, if I was the dean of a college and saw that the person trying to get into my school, had their education in Louisianna, I would say, "Sorry, but, you just don't have the fundamental educational background to meet or schools minimum requirements for admitance."
That's actually happened to some people trying to go to colleges that had gone to a "Christian" school. Way I see it if you're taught creationism is right and evolution wrong makes you as unknowledgable in biology as believing the Earth flat would in Geography. To be fair, unless it's an elite school I wouldn't reject them - I would make them take remedial classes though (so they learn the factual information rather than Christarded disinformation. )
Hey, there's an idea! You know they have those "for dummies" books? Someone should publish scientific books that give the basics that these morons don't know - ie "Biology for Christians. "

Nice to see some colleges doing that. Yes, taking remedial classes would be a very good idea.
Haha! Excellent idea. Those books would have to have plenty of illustrations.
I am going to a UC. The universities just won a lawsuit against them from people who went to a creationists school. The UC system does not count creationists classes as being biology. So some people's high school biology didn't count. At least the court got it right and shot down the creationists.
For the matter, the UC schools are correct, creationism really isn't biology.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."
British General Charles Napier while in India
The Anti "Discovery Institute" is blasphemy ....
