The Zeitgeist Team Has Done It Again!
You can watch Zeitgeist: Addendum (Duh Duh DUUUUH!) right here.
Err. Anyone want to tackle the claims made in the film? Some are half-truths, most are blatant fraud... I think I'll tackle the Globalization = TEH EVILZ! claim tomorrow.
"Natasha has just come up to the window from the courtyard and opened it wider so that the air may enter more freely into my room. I can see the bright green strip of grass beneath the wall, and the clear blue sky above the wall, and sunlight everywhere. Life is beautiful. Let the future generations cleanse it of all evil, oppression and violence, and enjoy it to the full."

Thanks Kevin , watching now .... but fraud ??? umm ? Say more Kevin. I sure like the "oneness" message, as I like the overall mesage of no to the masters, the current terrorist controlling establishment .....
Oxymorons: Business ethics, Government ethics .... Understand the slogans, "Eat the Rich ... No Masters" .... geezz all is One , One earth, One race. I rather like this movie. .... Wake up the neighbors.

The problem, IAGAY, is that - while I do agree with a few of the issues brought-up - the Zeitgeist team manufactures numbers, interviews witnesses with no credibility, perpetuate conspiracy nonsense (9/11 was an inside job! There are no islamic terrorists!) and promotes pipe-dream fantasies that, however, tantalizing, can never come to fruition.
Let's consider Project Venus for a moment:
I'm all for it. Electric vehicles, renewable energy, no 9 to 5, etc. But there should be a big question at the forefront of your mind when you're given this picture: who's going to build all of these wonderful things? Who's going to find the materials in the ground, extract them, refine them and manufacture the goods? We're given no satisfactory answer here; our machines certainly can't do this on their own, as there isno known way for a machine to intuit where to dig, how deep to dig, where to bring the materials, etc. Manufacturing is a slightly easier task for automatons, but even there we're centuries away from being able to fully automate a factory of any sort - much less one for very complex machinery.
It's just more wishful thinking and bogus fantasy.

More details good Kevin. This is not Z movie one. Yes it doesn't provide answers , but is says no to capitalism as it has always run greedily rampant. That is pretty much what I got out of this movie.
What are the actual details you object too. Basically the movie said, the present system is about creating shortage, of resourses, for the controlling few, and creating memes that the masses follow. The more I think about it, the more I like this movie and it's makers. Get it on, I AM Revolution!

Well, foremostly, I object to these blatant lies:
- That Al Quaeda is a fictitious entity
- That 9/11 was perpetuated by the U.S. Government (was an 'inside job')
- That Globalization is a vicious conspiracy plot (in truth, the soft power of globalization is the only thing that kept humanity from coming to a very radioactive end during the cold war)
- That banks & corporations 'control everything' with malicious intent
...That gets us started, at least. I'm sure most of the information they provided regarding currency was also untruthful.
Yes, you and they are right - our monetary economy does suck. But it's the best sytem we've ever had, and frankly, ideas like Project Venus aren't tenable at their foundational level. Again: How are we supposed to explore, extract, refine and manufacture the resources for a resource-based economy without man hours? Jacque has very interesting ideas when it comes to design and architecture, but his system will never run if it can't get the stuff out of the ground and turned into building material.

Kevin, thanks for the reply, and I basically agree with you. I admit I skimmed thru the movie last night, so I will watch it again soon, more alerted, especially for serious errors and super exaggerations. I will say again it seems effective at waking up the apathetic and brainwashed neighbors into stimulating needed serious debate. Also, sometimes "exaggerations" are helpful and needed, as I often do it thru satire, using religious words and concepts, as I preach the "saving good word" of atheism. .... I am god .... !

Are you paying attention to the news on the bailout bill? The first 20 minutes are on point and truthful. This is the most important aspect of the fraud that people need to realize. Forget about the other topics at the moment, if you don't understand this then you've been drinking Brawndo brought to you by government sponsored education.
So easy that that Uncle Scrooge can do a better job running the fraudulent system than Ben Bernanke:
There are more academic docs like 'Money, Banking, and the Federal Reserve' by the Mises Institute or the Money Masters series on how this goes back to the Roman times of inflation (clipping coins) to inflate the money supply to this present day of fractional reserve banking.

Good one Rev Real. I emailed that and the new Z movie. Thanks.
I think you can at least agree that regardless of the truth, that the american government has twisted and used the event in such a way that many in power have benefited greatly from it. I think that's nearly as bad.
But I must say some of that Project Venus stuff seems illogical, even if we had the technology. Human beings evolved as competitors, and even in abundance we've always wanted more. Intellectually understanding we have all we need probably won't be enough to stop our biological urge to hoard. And elimination of social classes? We're social animals that prefer them. It's no coincidence we're more likely to listen to authority than our everyday compatriots; we evolved that way.
I think a little thought towards evolutionary psychology would help the filmmakers greatly.

You are a smart kidd, buddha pyro ... Yeah, understanding the way we operate. Good to see you again.

Just so that you now, Kevin is Canadian. I don't think he's been drinking any American Brawndo and I don't imagine that he'd have any vested interest in believing anything but the truth, which is something the Zeitgeist team is barely acquainted with.
BigUniverse wrote,
"Well the things that happen less often are more likely to be the result of the supper natural. A thing like loosing my keys in the morning is not likely supper natural, but finding a thousand dollars or meeting a celebrity might be."
Yes, I have; and no, they are not.
Consider the absurdity of the argument: By the logic of the documentary-makers, the Federal Reserve Bank has effectively masterminded it's own unraveling. Aside from the untenability of such a massive, global conspiracy, the core premise of the argument is ridiculous. If the banking cartels were pulling all of the strings, why on Earth would they now be on the brink of collapse?
Then there is the other matter that I always enjoy pointing-out to fans of massive, perplexing conspiracy plots: Bill Clinton wasn't even able to keep quiet the fact that he'd had a blowjob in the oval office.
The fact is that whistle blowers are everywhere, and no company is 'ruled' by just a handful of people. Checks and balances are naturally in place by virtue of the sheer complexity of an institution. Every accountant, every inspector, every consultant, every investor, every executive - are you going to try and arguethat all of these people even could cooperate together to the degree required for this conspiracy to exist?
The business world is full of human pettiness, opportunism and relationships. All it would take is a few hurt feelings on one side of the plan for the whole thing to be blown wide open.
The reality is much simpler: Allowed the opportunity to cheat, people did just that. And no, I don't just mean corporate executives; every single person who decided to take-on the massive debts offered by the institutes so that they could live-out fantasy lives that they otherwise could not have afforded gets to shoulder their hunk of the blame too. When too many people cheat, any system will inevitably crash (by the looks of things, there's no being bailed out of this result either).
Great as it feels to blame everything on the man, the people who defaulted on the mortgages that they could never have afforded but were so greedy they took deserve just as much flak.
There's also an overall message in Zeitgeist I find appalling: entrepreneuers are lazy scum.
Have you ever met a CEO before? These people are driven (with a few exceptions), and it's their general attitude of working hard to build something for themselves that's led them to their success. Do you honestly believe that individuals like Bill Gates or Warren Buffet spend their days sipping martinis and kicking-back on a private yacht? They have businesses to run and assets to take care of! There's no doubt that they have more leisure time than you and I, and if you're jealous of that, so be it; it's the reward they reap for taking the huge initial risks and investments (in both time and money) and making the innovations that were necessary to establish themselves as movers and shakers in the world.

I'll just say the system is obviously pretty sick, and I think largely cureable with proper attention, but I admittably am not much of an economics doctor.
Conspiracy is a rather lose broad word, but yeah, No to the bulk of the 911 conspiracy fans. I missed that 911 part in the film??? I'll see it again in better detail asap.
