The West Bank belonged, until the pre-emptive attack by Israel in 1967, to the King of Jordan. King Hussein of Jordan agreed to give up sovereignity of the West Bank for it to become a homeland, with the Gaza strip, for the Palestinians.
Since then it has been whittled away by the building of settlements by Israelis over much of the West Bank. They are huge conglomerations of buildings with walls and little army round them to keep them secure, and roads built throughout the West Bank conecting them. These divide up the West Bank, until what is offered the Palestinian people is about 40% of the original land. That was the best proposal there has been, no wonder that Arafat didn't sign it.
Man, Israelis are committing a genocide, and your nation pays their army. Palestinians never started terrorism, Israelis did, and Palestinians learned it from them. All the wars in Middle-East are the fault of Jewish American greed, WE must stop killing and financing the murders, not them. We first, because we started it! I like a lot of Israelites, the Capsula band, the Infected Mushroom band, the Astral Projection band, but their politics and army is currently committing a genocide, that's a fact. It's more complicated than that. Most Palestinians are not terrorists. In fact not all Palestinians are even Muslim, there are Palestinian Christians, Palestinian Atheists, hey there's even Palestinian Jews. I have sympathy for the Jewish people, having been persecuted for Millenia. But this doesn't hide the fact that Israel should not have been founded so thoughtlessly in somewhere that was already inhabited by another group of people. No wonder Palestinians get angry! The early UN turned around and said to them, "yeah uhh... we're gonna give your land away to these people, because, uhh... they've got nowhere else to go, and well they kinda used to live here. Be nice to them yeah?" Despite the anger Palestinians are bound to feel, most Palestinians are ordinary, peaceful human beings, trying to live their lives under an often brutal regime.
I don't think Israel should absolutely not have been established, but it shouldn't have been established without any negotiations with the people that already dwelled there, and it certainly shouldn't have been given jurisdiction over all of Palestine.

Uh. No, not quite.
The U.N. General Assembly at the time was attempting the first of many failed measures to resolve the Arab-Jewish conflict peacefully by partitioning a piece of Palestine (and a relatively small piece) for the Jews to settle. The muslims reacted violently (big surprise there...), and after the state of Israel was formally established, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan attacked it (...resulting in a route, thanks to the laughable military incompetence and technical inferiority of said muslims).
This, of course, completely destroyed what the U.N. was attempting to achieve and ruined the partition plan (a plan which the muslim nations nearby would not negotiate over. At all. Their holy space rock was not something to be negotiated over).
Israel is not a 'brutal regime' by any standard. Certainly they're more civil than even the most progressive of muslim states (try comparing Israeli rule of law to, say, Saudi Arabia's rule of law).
1) There wereno negotiations because the muslims refused to negotiate.
2) They were not given jurisdiction over the entire region of Palestine. They were partitioned a perfectly reasonable space of land. The muslims refused to give them any land, no matter what the U.N. said, determined to continue with their strife and butchery. The U.N.'s proposal being a failure, the Israelis said, 'Fuck it,' and took the land - and when the muslims tried to shove them off of it, they shoved back, and decided that, hey, while they have the military advantage, they may as well take some more territory while they're at it.

There's more to this conflict than "This side is right and that side is wrong".
I seem to recall that Israel was attacked by five countries immediately after its founding, which were much larger and much more powerful in military terms (at the time) than Israel. These being Syria, Libya, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan.
At any rate, this is a contest of no comparison. On the one hand we have a highly technical, educated, secular civilized nation which makes massively disproportionate (to its size) contribution to science, technology and humanity in general, which managed to take a barren strip of land and irrigate it, and which is a constitutional democracy...on the other hand, we have a group of backwater nations, some of which still practice public beheading, which are under the control of groups of theocrats, and which are in general, stuck in the 7th century.

It is preposterous to assert that the process of systematic scientific reasoning arbitrarily excludes “non-physical explanations” because the very notion of “non-physical explanation” is contradictory.

Wasn't to attack Israel essentially attacking America's military in Israel? Sure, the governments and the brainwashing of the mid east is barbaric, but wasn't that like our old Europe?
Was the formation of modern Israel a good idea? Aren't we still paying for stupidity and the war mentality of Hitlers? Why the hell was Israel formed on lousy land in a region against the idea? Umm, religion?

It may seem peculiar, but something tells me that Bin Laden is not an Islamic extremist. It's like he plays one, being in service of American army. He's like the rat in Hit the Rat game, he appears somewhere, USA strikes an attack there, but Osama escapes and lures the attack elsewhere. He works as a provocateur agent to give USA a pretext for attacking anyone and anywhere it's good for the influence in the abroad. You bother USA too much? Bin Laden might tomorrow appear in your house, and you know what we do with supporters of the vile terrorist, right?

I like to imagine him having a cottage in the Rocky mountains, filming his corny islamic videoclips to scare the heathens and strengthten the faith of believers, and to remind the world of his existence.
