I signed up a year ago.

Well, looks like I've been here a year, officially.

I signed up a year ago, having seen a link from somehwere else lost in the mists of time and beer. I didn't do much that first day, or the month that followed. After the automated email prod, though, I came to check this site out in earnest. I came for the blasphemy; I stayed for the generally high level of intelligence and discussion.

It's good to be here, even a year later.

I just wanted a post that was all about me. That's all.

 Nigel, congrats I always

Nigel, congrats I always enjoy your rational posts. I agree with the loss of the link from beer and time.

A whole year of great

A whole year of great rational posts, fabulous wit, and groan-inducing puns. Well done, sir.

Does this mean we can call you "Gramps"? Laughing out loud

But you must feel you've got scripture on your side to come up with the tedious 'Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve' style arguments instead of just recognising that some people are different." - Douglas Murray

Same here. If I recall correctly, I learned about this place from the Blasphemy Challenge videos on YouTube, came for the blasphemy, lurked for a while, then became a member who stayed around for the discussion.

If you call Nigel "Gramps" I dread what you'll call me. He made me curious so I looked and found I've been here for 2.5 years. Nowhere near having as good of posts but I am obstinate.

"Transitional fossil" comes to mind. It's as good a name as any.

Great Gramps? Or, in deference your your gadfly-ness, Grate Gramps. Eye-wink

Same here too, except I hadn't heard about the RRS until the day I signed up. I found out about the blasphemy challenge here. Before I came here I thought everyone was a mindless drone doing what they were told to do by their country/preacher. Now I know it's only most people!

I like it here. There are not very many places where I can voice my opinion without getting a barrage of angry responses. I may not always be right but I don't like being told I'm wrong because my thought isn't in-line with 2000 year old desert scribblings.

For what it's worth Nigel: I haven't been here very long but I have enjoyed the couple exchanges we have had so far. And I enjoy a good pun too.

After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him.

The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.

It's been a pleasure, Nigel. Looking forward to many more trips around the sun that include your dialogue. Smiling

You've been hear a year?

You've been here for a year? What kind of atheist are you? Where were you when Ingersoll was blasting religion, NEVER MIND THE FACT YOU WERNT BORN YET! (Did I think that, or type it?)

Now, other atheists can forgive you for not being part of the godless borg, but your payment for redemtion is to barbeque kittens and sport a Clay Akin bumper sticker on your car.

Don't have a barbeque - turkey fried kitten OK?

Don't have a car - can I attach it to my backside with a hole for continued bodily function?

Crap for crap I say.

It upsets me somewhat that

It upsets me somewhat that you signed up 3 days after me, and have about 10 times the number of post I do.  I don't know if that makes my contribution here pathetic, or yours immense Laughing out loud

Happy 1 year to you too Michael! Regarding the number of posts - you have a sciencefreak badge doesn't that mean you are busy in your secret science lab observing stuff to come up with hypothesis and following through with that freaky scientific method...  Smiling

I think it's more that one of Michael's posts is worth about nine of mine.
