Two Years
Nigel's post reminded me that (taking into account the time zone difference) today it has been two years since I signed up here.
I like it here. The people on this board are very intelligent.
That is all.
"Physical reality” isn’t some arbitrary demarcation. It is defined in terms of what we can systematically investigate, directly or not, by means of our senses. It is preposterous to assert that the process of systematic scientific reasoning arbitrarily excludes “non-physical explanations” because the very notion of “non-physical explanation” is contradictory.

You've been a member for 1 year 51 weeks, so humbug! In all seriousness though, it's been great having you around.
I still have 10 weeks to go before my 2-year anniversary
Stultior stulto fuisti, qui tabellis crederes!
I thought there were 52 weeks in a year...
Actually if you want to get technical he's been here 1 year 51 weeks and 5 days.
But an early congrats on 2 years!
So that makes it two years worth of leaving very large holes where house-flies used to be. I say, well done, sir.
Hmm. Does this mean we should call you "Elder Denizen"?
"Anyone can repress a woman, but you need 'dictated' scriptures to feel you're really right in repressing her. In the same way, homophobes thrive everywhere. But you must feel you've got scripture on your side to come up with the tedious 'Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve' style arguments instead of just recognising that some people are different." - Douglas Murray
Just kidding, of course you should!
After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him.

Happy 2 Year!
Thanks for your information filled posts...I can't say I understand any formulas when posted but the content around them is always enlightening

DG's been here two years... he's a day ahead of us.
Congrats!
Two years worth of Deludedgod has been interesting, I'd like to say I've enjoyed all your posts but I've only been able to decipher about half of them; I'm only an engineer after all, but as soon as I get the translations I'll better know if I like you.

You're calling me intelligent? I can barely tie my own shoelaces.
Anywho, it is great to be on such a board as this. Glad to have you here.

Thank you for taking the time to help educate those of us who are ignorant in the areas you have studied. It is much appreciated.

DG, it's been awesome having you here, even if there are bazooka holes all over the walls.

Good go so far.
Thanks DG! It's very humbling to have a legitimate research biologist on the forum. Actually, I have to thank everyone here. I wouldn't even have stayed this long if being here wasn't so intellectually stimulating.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, | As I foretold you, were all spirits, and | Are melted into air, into thin air; | And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, | The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, | The solemn temples, the great globe itself, - Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, | And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, | Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff | As dreams are made on, and our little life | Is rounded with a sleep. - Shakespeare
I have learned more in those two years than I could have imagined.
Not only have you explained much, but you have opened doors to so much more for me.
I don't want to get a gushy, but I have appreciated your presence here greatly and will continue to read everything you give us.

I can only add to the plaudits - and maybe add one more to the list. Fair play to you DG for keeping your sanity in the face of having to repeat yourself, it seems sometimes, to the point of nausea. And sometimes even in correspondence with the same theist!
If they think they can win by attrition they haven't reckoned on you! Long may the repetition continue ....

Happy 2nd RRS account day!
Your posts are among the best and most informative. Thanks a million
I don't get it. Could you explain that again, Nordmann?

The toughest problem facing anyone who has applied themselves to taking theists to task is the interminable repetition it involves, especially when debunking the spurious arguments which their religion has convinced them are clinchers and which they therefore dutifully trot out. One finds oneself saying things which should be perfectly obvious again and again to people who can't or won't listen to reason, and often to the point where one feels one is beginning to lose one's own reason in the process.
It takes a very patient person to stick to the task and stick to it in a consistently cogent manner. Such people deserve credit, especially when faced with people who would willingly interpret a tedium-induced silence from their interlocutor as having somehow "won" the argument.

Got ya. lol.
The request was facetious.

Whatever gets you through the night ...
For my part, I can't tell you how awesome it is to be able to say, "You know what? I don't have any clue. Ask Deludedgod." I don't think you've let me down yet.

I recalled that I started at about the same time as DG. Checked my account today and... 2 years and 18 hours at the moment!
I've always liked struggling through your posts though, DG, they are incredibly enlightening and challenging, and I can only hope you can complete that series of molecular biology lectures to your satisfaction soon, I was really getting into them!
