Haggard was on Larry King Thursday, January 29th.

I just finished reading the transcript, and I have to say that the interview was low key and generally boring. King didn't quite ask any tough questions and Haggard certainly didn't say anything that no one didn't already know. He (Haggard) was continually saying that none of what was being discussed is anything more than what is already known. Well, I didn't really expect more, however, King could have forced several questions further. From the transcript it doesn't seem as though Haggard was ever unsure about his answers. I would have preferred it if he had a tough time in answering some of the questions. He must have very good counselors indeed.

What really makes Haggard an evil person is how he chastised homosexuals in his ministry when all the time he was doing the same. He continues to this day in refusing to accept the label of homosexual or bisexual though his actions suggest that is exactly what he is. He says he was hypocritical yet that falls short of describing someone who blatantly cheated on his spouse, in homosexual relationships while damning others in his sermons. He continues to con his wife who quotes scripture saying Jesus says to forgive 70 times 7. He may run out of the free passes eventually as I would guess there are far more that has not surfaced. He is a example of a real sick puppy for the lies and damage he does while propagating the unrealistic myths. What really sucks is this shit is making money from at least HBO when it appears from the reports he forced himself on at least the volunteer.

I agree that King gave Haggard nothing but softballs. The only question that bordered on interesting came from Mike Jones, ie, "Have there been any other contacts that you have not yet disclosed"?
Haggard side-stepped it and wouldn't answer. No surprise there.
What really ticks me off (although it doesn't surprise me) is the church cover-up of the whole thing, meaning the 2nd Haggard encounter, but then the Fundamentalist/Catholic, etc. Xtian philosophy clearly fuels the notion that societal mores don't apply to the "chosen".

Haggard is a victim of brainwashing. If he had been raised in a liberal family in a liberal invironment, he probably would have rejected the idea that something was wrong with him and probably wouldn't have acted out like he did.
He did do something wrong. He had sex in public, and most people dont want to run into that without concent, especially in public where they dont expect it. And he masterbated in front of someone who did not give him permission. He has mistaken his transgressions as being a "sin" when his homosexuality, or bisexuality is not the problem, his time place and context was.
He needs to lose his theocratic thinking, leave those bigoted assholes behind, accept himself, AND behaive himself and ask concent. What he did with the man in the bathroom would be just as bad as if I walked into a bathroom and caught a 400 lb man fucking a 300lb fat flabby woman.
And if any of us were to masterbate in front of a woman without asking or doing it anyway after she told us no, we would be just as wrong.
TED, it is ok to be gay or bi. If your church is telling you your bad because they dont like what you do with your privates, FUCK THEM! But, gay or not, when anyone plays with their privates, do it only in a place where others expect it, and you have their concent.
You've been had Ted, and you dont need bigots to tell you what to do with your life.
