Hiya, new here!
I'm 15 and I live in the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean.
I'm an atheist, and a future mathematician (no but seriously, even though most of my class is slow in math, im severely ahead of them... and I'm lucky to have an excellent and personable teacher)
hmm.. lets see... I was brought up as a catholic(i was baptised, first communion.. etc..) but my parents are what some might call moderate christians. On my own I began to question the probability(another math subject I love ) and coherence of what I was being taught. Later I started listening to George Carlin and as I laughed my ass off to his comedy I also got a new sense of morality and ethics you might say. I was led to the debate between RRS and kirk cameron and ray comfort by my brother and I enjoyed it thouroughly as I also learned(tried to.., kirk and ray kinda interfered ) new stuff about history and evolution. I especially liked when Kelly said, ''I would rather go to hell, than go to heaven and worship a megalo-maniacal tyrant''. That led me to your site and Ive read several articles, watched several videos and I think im gonna love this place!
My school is catholic.. >_>, its basic religious interferences would be:
1) The religion teacher reads a myth... woops.. i mean passage from the bible and then instructs us on the moral(lol) of said myt--passage.
2) 45 minutes of my week are wasted with a religion course.. >_> which is very idiotic because as this idiot is talking about adam and eve, im being taught evolution in science class but thankfully, at least i am being taught evolution.
Its funny because when I took sunday school(or at least the version of that here in DR) I was, as usual, the top of my class(doing all the homework, only one that had memorized all the commandments and sacraments in order, etc..), and how quickly it all crumbled down as I started to use rational and critical thinking. But I'm happy to be past all that.
More about my math interest. Ever since the first years of elementary ive had an acute mental agility when it came to Mathematics(in this case, arithmetics). It was a long time ago and the only general and particular cases I can remember are that in 2nd grade, during math class, my teacher would give me the 3rd grade math book and would put some assignments from that book. The particular case would be once when the math teacher pulled me from 2nd grade to the 4th grade because one of her students couldnt handle an addition of several digits each.... I did it mentally and I felt really smart..lol. I deeply thank my parents for putting me in an english school since prekinder, allowing my alphabetization(is that a word?) in english<<<........irony :/
As a final statement, I'm a gamer . I have a wii and recently got an Xbox 360. My favorite game is Super Smash Bros. Brawl... if anyone wants to play you know what to do.. xD

Have you explored the morals of, say, Leviticus and Judges? Good times.
Haha, one of my favorites as well.
Our revels now are ended. These our actors, | As I foretold you, were all spirits, and | Are melted into air, into thin air; | And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, | The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, | The solemn temples, the great globe itself, - Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, | And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, | Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff | As dreams are made on, and our little life | Is rounded with a sleep. - Shakespeare
I'm a math lover as well. I too had a great teacher. I was a always partial to integral calculus as it afforded a small challenge. Though this was more than likely due to my complete lack of any effort in class. I found that when I had memorized known integrals/derivatives the mystery was gone, along with the challenge.
I need a refresher course though. It's been 6 years since I used it and sadly most knowledge has been lost.
Welcome to the RRS!

3) Since apparently today is Ash Wednesday, after we sang the anthem and were heading into the school, people would get in line to have ashes put on their foreheads(lolwut). Accompanied with the saying ''Ashes you are, and Ashes you will become'' <......(translation)
and thanks guys!

Must be the dust to dust thing. I still haven't read the entire Bible. I gotta get on that so I can make fun of theist more thoroughly...

How can you pull yourself to do that? I find every time I read religious texts I can literally feel brain cells dying.

No, I am not angry at your imaginary friends or enemies.
I don't know. It's inexplicable... I also thought about rewriting some books in a humorous manner. Maybe call it the King Spike's Version.
