Well, I would like to

Well, I would like to have a smallish circuit board which is basically a dedicated computer to implant in whatever machines will be made in the future to accept it. It basically has to come in two parts.

Part #1 is a processor, flash RAM and three communication links. RJ45 for a secure connection to my network when I want to initialize the programming, PCI-E 1X for connection to whatever machine it goes in and bluetooth for a short range personal wireless network.

Part #2 is another processor, flash RAM and 802.11n for a wider area network with public key encryption. It will connect to a public network consisting of any other public service boxes that can be placed around a city and connected to the internet in general.

There should be a secure limited access bus between the two halves.

The basic idea is that they can be embedded into all future machines as a hardware monitoring device that can only access my home network from one half and only access the public network from the other half.

When they become common enough, it will be possible for me to get reminders on my computer for stuff that I have to do and plan them properly. So my refrigerator will remind me to clean it out every couple of weeks and clean the coils twice a year. Or my car will tell me that I have an oil change coming up and I can click to authorize it to negotiate an appointment.

Noninvasive Brian

Noninvasive Brian Stimulation apparatus that I can control.

You can read more about it here:

But I want a way to reward stimulate people's pleasure centers when they think like me and stimulate the pain centers when they don't.

That’s a easy one simply use tobacco pills or you can chew tobacco I don’t know f it cosec cancer however you get to tease nicotine In your blood.

The actual alternative is to have a computer chip in your brain that would simulate to your brain the experience of having a cigarette. And 100% no cancer however you have to wait for this option.

Nanobots . Use nanobots in the  blood my overlord.

Immortality , a cure for every disease and upgrading your body are so old concepts and already solved by the concept of nanobots that all you have to do is wait for the development of nanobots.

All the alternatives just arn't the same. Its the smoking i enjoy.  chewing tobacco stuff that, tobacco pills pointless, if I wanted to quit sure. but I have no intention of quiting atm. Not something I can explain.

Processor to the brain it will simulate the experience in 100% , think matrix style the matrix is telling your brain that you are having a delicious smock. It would be 100% real for you and undistinguishable from a real cigarette except the cancer risk. Besides I don’t bend the rules of reality and I’m answering to the request “I wont to have a experience of smoking a cigarette without the cancer risk”. The real question here is what do you define as a cigarette ?What is real ?If a cigarette is something that you can feel , interact with , taste , hear , see and smell then the matrix scenario is exactly this.

to bad il die of lung cancer long befor anything like that comes along, don't think i would get one anyway. Sounds kinda like simulated sex, really what is the point. Question awnsered, time frame is a little off though

Yes that’s a futuristic scenario however why do you think its un real if it fits every definition of real ? What would you think about having a traditional cigarette and the cure for cancer ? You smoke and take the cure not to die is this satisfying to you ? The cure are nanobots they would eliminate the cancer. However I don’t think you would live long enough to see thus methods available to you.

I can think of a few that

I can think of a few that would be fairly revolutionary:

1) A direct neural interface, hopefully non-invasive, such that I can control a machine with my thoughts directly. We already have simple prototypes, but I'm talking high-bandwidth and fast. I should be able to type this message without using my hands, control a robot to perform pretty much any task, and talk to people using technology-assisted telepathy.

2) A machine intelligence equal to or greater than human intelligence. The Singularity. Pretty much 'nuff said.

3) A fully self-sustaining, self-replicating biosphere that can survive in space more-or-less indefinitely. With self-replication, that would mean the solar system could rapidly be colonized by humans. With self-sustaining technology, primarily solar power and auto-factories (factories that can make copies of themselves, as well as other components), there would be no dependence on Earth itself. Galactic civilization, here we come!

Hey if the cure was a pill or an injection sure, then I really wouldn't care that smoking causes cancer. But if it's kemo or a ,lung transplant then nooooooooooooo. It would be unreal because it is not physically happening. Call me old fasioned but I really don't want to push a button and i fell like i am having a smoke. I would know that I wasn't really having a smoke witch I think would kinda ruin it. Hyperthetical, the matrix is 100% accurate, we are all pluged into a computer, then what you are talking about would be currently happening. There in that situation I don't know that im not really having a smoke and that is fine. But to feel like I am having a smoke while i know im not.... kinda freaky.

I'd need a headphones.

I'd need a headphones. Wireless, miniaturized, soft, waterproof, washable, and made of some mostly transparent, non-reflective matter, so they will be almost invisible. And most importantly, they should last for years of using, not three months, as it is today the standard.

As for the revolutionary stuff, it seems there is a lot of it ahead of us, and something even better than we can imagine. Why would we need a powerful and complex machines, when we could act simply by having a greater control over energy, matter and time? The more advanced the technology is, the simplier it may be. I mean, less moving parts, (ideally none) less visible parts, more of common materials, and so on.

I had heard about one old book. One woman (I don't remember her name, but it's very well known) disguised herself as a man and secretly got to Tibet, in these times a forbidden land. She then wrote a book how some tibetyan monks took care of her and showed her some secrets. For example, there was a cave corridor they were passing through. The monk took a mallet and hit a small gong. The cave suddenly lighted up. It turned out that there were some strange devices around. It looked like a common crystal with two wires attached on it's ends. The two wires led to a copper tablet. There was no obvious energy source. Depending on how strongly the gong was hit, so long and intensely the crystals shone.

I won't lie that looks cool, although it probably sucks. Seeing as there is no distrabution in south Africa (from what i can tell on the site) I will not be trying it out. Buying smokes off the interent with shiping fees would be extremely expensive. I think il try my luck with cancer instead. But seriously that seems like a realistic replacement for smoking. Assuming that it really is like smoking. Btw the video on the main page is great expessially the bar part. They really should get over marketing as a a quiting aid but market it as away to smoke indoors. The bar part just shows that atleast for some people its really not second hand smoke they care about. (serously is the reaserch on second hand smoke good? smokers breath in second hand smoke aswel as the smoke through the filter and we last a good 40 years) although I quite like the law forcing me to smoke outside quite a nice social thing tbh.

Visual retinal display, for

Visual retinal display, for sure.

Barring that, a pair of glasses like Spider Jerusalem's.  Which I would think would be not too far off, really, if someone would just work on 'em.
