Mothers are empty vessels...

... WITHOUT GOD!!

At least according to a few opinions in this article

Excerpt:

"When busy mothers don't make room for God, they become isolated and vulnerable, says Tracy Klehn, author of "Prayer Starters for Busy Moms."

"That's when women can get involved in a relationship outside marriage, a relationship with shopping or food," Klehn says. "She has to get something to fill her, because she's depleted, and she doesn't realize that she's hungry for the living water."

So mothers without god have affairs, rack up big credit card bills and become fat from food?

I am not a mother but this entire article stinks. I have friends that talk about the 'pulled in every direction' feeling they have when it comes to family, friends and work...but very few seek out an invisible man to help carry the load:

"Mothers can feel so alone because so many people need you for different reasons," Klehn says. "That's the reason why I feel this passion to let people know that there's someone out there to help them."

I have changed many a diaper cooked many a meal and helped many a friend catch some shut-eye by just being a friend...apparently I was sent from god:

"Klehn says one of the biggest challenges for busy mothers is learning how to accept help. She says some mothers feel that they have to do it all. They should realize that God often shows up through a friend who may offer an encouraging word or even offer to cook dinner, she says."

Does this article make any of the mothers out there shake their heads? Do you really need a god belief to help you 'get through' being a mother?

Given they're talking of the christian god here I feel I might be qualified to weigh in that I'm not having affairs, I don't own a credit card, actually shopping is not any kind of pasttime by my estimation, and well, my arse gets a bit rounder if I sit around too much but my eating habits are generally above average healthy. I guess that covers it.

Yes, the employment of editorial rhetoric and stealth marketing tactics to promote ideology always makes me shake my head.

eh, I'd settle for a good nights sleep..

but seriously, No, God belief is not something I depend on to get me through, full stop. I would admit to utilising "faith" in a practical sense toward obtaining my goals (by that I mean something like affirmation, deliberate focus and attention on positive possibilities and etc) but this is separate from my god belief for the most part.

For me, belief in God is just that, belief that other units of "beingness" exist beyond the ones which we define and one of those is of the nature which we humans have long ascribed to God - whereas - faith is a mechanism which operates within and between units of being, facilitating action, the stuff we call life. One I am quite sure I need to get me through, the other is there whether I get through or not, regardless, it just is.

Pastors have sex with women?

After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him.

The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.

Then why aren't more women atheist?

In every society (except the nordic nations), religion perpetuates this kind of crap and is IMO the single greatest obstacle towards gender equality. Yet it boggles the mind as to why most women are not atheist. And those who have no respect for civil liberties are more apt to raise their voices in anger over a guy (or girl) masturbating to porn than to the misogyny of scripture.

Whatever your thoughts are regarding Bratz dolls, pole dancing, Tila Tequila, raunch culture, lad mags, Playboy, etc..and their alleged negative patriarchical conditioning on young girls, all of that likely have a microscopic effect on women when compared with the influence of the Old and New Testament or the Koran. Yet the mainstream feminist media seem to focus an excessive amount of attention on those things. In fact, because of a pathologic respect for "multiculturalism" and cultural relativism, misogynist Islamic practices worlwide are tolerated by mainstream feminists.
