NBC Poll on "In God We Trust"
This has been apparently floating around the Internet since 2004 in some form or fashion. If you do not know it already NBC has a poll which in still running. Please visit it and vote. I can't believe that 80% of American's believe that "In God We Trust" is not a violation of the Church and State clause.
I am of the opinion that Christian's have been passing this around for years with out the knowledge of people like me. I'm also going to assume that some of those who have voted, voted multiple times from different IP addresses. So pass this along to others!
I can't recall if links were allowed and I'm too tired to go check, so I apologize in advance to the mods.

Which god?
Well, since we are talking about the United States, I'm guessing the "Christian God".
I am confused how people can actually think that having "In God We Trust" on money is not a conflict of interest. If our government was truly impartial then random bills and coins should say, "In Allah We Trust", "In Shiva We Trust", "In Acolnahuacatl We Trust" or "In Zeus We Trust". Personally, it shouldn't say any god.
Whoa! they still make that paper stuff!? My check card doesn't seem to mention god.
Check cards are great. They don't take up room and weigh very little.
But is a money less society possible? Not in my life time, but it certainly would solve this whole "God We Trust" issue.
Can someone tell me what a check card is?
A check card is a device similar to a credit card that banks issue to its customers so that they can purchase goods and services. In the United States, they often they have a MasterCard or Visa logo on them. Most businesses allow people to use them in the same way a credit card is used.
Instead of being tied to a revolving credit account, the money comes directly from a checking account. It basically makes cash unneccessary. In exchange for the convenience, you give up anonymity because the bank tracks every transaction and "big brother"will know that you buy porn, beer, illegal fireworks, and donuts.
Remember how you figured out there is no Santa? Well, their god is just like Santa. They just haven’t figured out he’s not real yet.
So, they are interac cards? Silly Americans. Wait, do they work like interac cards? In Canada, they issued by a bank to all clients, allowing access at interac terminals to funds in a chequeing/savings account for purchases. They are ubiquitous here; it's hard for me to imagine a venue without interac.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. In the US, we're a bunch of suckers who keep our money in banks who invest it and make themselves more money off of our money.

If god can do anything, can he make a hot dog so big even he can't eat all of it?
I want to thank digitalbeachbum for providing the link to the NBC new poll regaring the question about keeping the words "In God we Trust" on US currency. I have sent this link to all my Christian friends asking them if they would care to vote.
Why vote ~ just pray.

It won't matter. Religion and the people who follow it fail to see the delusion of permanence. Eventually, all things fail and decay. So will the US dollar, the US government, the Christian religion, etc.
Ask this same poll 500 years or 1000 years from now and it would be comparable to asking some today if images of a Roman gods should be removed from coins of those ancient times.
It's not 80 per, it's 89 per cent.
America...what are you like?
Because he already knows that doesn't do jack shit.
i really dont give a crap about that sorta thing, ideally would i have it taken off, sure (im more worried about my money not being able to buy anything than whats written on it)
but in the arena of issues we should be discussing this is small potatoes
