Who really has legitimate authority in our society ???

While watching the G 20 summit on the Internet(anarchist included) and then comparing it with mass TV coverage (anarchist not included) it made me wonder about legitimate authority,and why the F<>K does the catholic church claim to have legitimate authority ?

They have money and people.

There are two ways to have social power: direct economic power, and indirect economic power. Money is direct economic power. Members willing to act on behalf of the organization is indirect economic power.

The catholic church has both.
