My congressman is Alan

My congressman is Alan Grayson, Orlando Florida you know the one that says the Republicans version of heath care is to die quickly. Also the one that says Cheney should STFU. I'm good with him.

Mel Martinez the Bush puppet senator resigned and is not running again, so that seat needs to be filled with a non puppet, someone with at least their own brain.

Well, I live in Connecticut

Well, I live in Connecticut and I always vote against Senator Dodd. So I will do what I can to get rid of the arrogant ass clown. Apart from that, I don't pay a huge amount of attention to the races that I cannot vote on. Honestly, who you voted for excites me about as much as who anyone from some other country voted for, which is to say, not enough to register on the care-o-meter.

What does interest me is that the Governator will be open to a presidential run for 2012. Sure, that is outside of the constitution but then so was the campaign of George Romney is 1964. Yet that was allowed to go on.

Oh that's just fabulous.

For whatever other shortcomings he may have, at least he's Austrian.

Austrian leaders out of their country have an excellent track record.

Need I mention any more than Kurt Waldheim?

Yep that's the one.

He proved once and for all that not all ex-Austrians are Nazis.

Well unless the guy has 18

Well unless the guy has 18 children and 5 wives and is wearing sunglasses and a leopards skin while holding a shield made fro a cow it really doesn't matter who gets what. He probably won't destroy everything. Just because you may think such a person doesn't exist.... here is the South African president. (picture taken yesterday)

No sadly not a joke Its why i laugh when people complain about Obama.

But seriously election don't really matter! most of the time even the wrong choice turns out pretty good.

Let's agree to disagree on that matter.

"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."

Is America still in one

Is America still in one piece? Is there rioting in the streets? Is unemployment running out of control? Depression or no America is fine. Seriously no doubt not the best president ever  but come on he hardly did that much damage. And far as im concerned with bush, everyone bitching about nothing really.... well for the most part anyway. Its not like your country got invaded Bush was a victim of the media as much as he was of his own mistakes. Perhaps i should of bolded the word most

My issues with Bush were

My issues with Bush were really about social policies than anything else.

I fundamentally disagree with his application of religious thought and ideas to public policy and our government.

This specifically manifested itself in the areas of

1. Stem Cell Research

2. Abortion rights

3. General Seperation of Church and State issues (prayer in school, pledge, etc.)

I have no problem with anyone freely acting in accordance with their belief system but I disagree very strongly

when a religious worldview is thrust upon the rest of us and mingled with our secular government.

The shit hasn't quite hit the fan yet. Give it 2-3 more years.

History shall know George W. Bush as the president who destroyed America.

No more than usual except mostly at town hall meetings lately.

Yes, at least in Florida where it's about 11.5% and Michigan where it's 14.7%. When we aren't employed we don't buy shit. When we don't buy shit China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and everyone else that sells shit to us materialistic Americans suffer and lose jobs.

Aren't you one who has bitched about US Imperialism in the past?

US invades Afghanistan and Iraq. Afghanistan, perhaps with cause to drive out Al-Queda, so they're gone and the US is still there.

US invades Iraq, for bullshit reasons. WMDs or Oil or to avenge Daddy or any other bullshit propagated. War is over in 6 weeks, Saddam is executed, the US is still there almost 6 years later. Result, unlike previous wars that stimulate the economy, this one drained US resources and helped to cause the eventual world wide down turn.

Bush appointed his oil cronies to approprate positions and showed favoritism to the oil industry eventaully helping to put fuel prices so high Americans had to choose between buying shit or buying gasoline. Gasoline won and combined with speculation in housing and commodities markets (oil & gas again) helped to bring about the economic down turn.

Bush loaded the Supreme Court with right wingers, brought religion into government, tried to force his religious values on all.

Bush propagated elitist policies and turned even allies away especially over his desire to invade Iraq.

Tapey wrote:

Easy for you to say. In the future if you really think this don't ever bitch about US foreign policies that originated with Bush.

No, we weren't invaded, instead we invaded other countries. Do you want him back for 4 more years? Perhaps he can find somewhere else to invade.

Tapey wrote:

George didn't need any help in being a elitist religious screw up, perhaps far worse than you understand. He couldn't understand simple things like Shia and Sunni Islam aren't the same. Consider yourself lucky he didn't push the big red button and nuke everyone and take us all to Jesus.

Well Dodd just announced today that he is not running again.  Dick Blumenthal is expected to announce that he will be going for the seat next week.
