Since I spend most of my work day at a computer, I spend much of the "pockets of time" inbetween doing things on surfing the internet.
I am now wondering if y'all would lik to submit 3 - three - websites or webpages you think are worthy of mentioning (apart from this one), insofar that you have them bookmarked. I myself shall submit the following three: (they all open in new windows!)
1. classics.mit.edu/index.html The Internet Classics archive contains much of the classic literature of antiquity.
2. deoxy.org/ The Deoxyribonucleic Hyperdimension is a site for all kinds of speculative humaniora.
3. www.lycaeum.org/~sputnik/Memetics/ Memetics is the study of how ideas move within human populations over time.
"The idea of God is the sole wrong for which I cannot forgive mankind." (Alphonse Donatien De Sade)

Fantastic idea! I can't wait to see what new things I find. Here are mine.
http://www.talkorigins.org/ - Great resource, invaluable information. If you want to get a real idea of creationist arguments and their weakness, start here. Too many atheists "lose" debates on evolution because they can't immediately explain the process of one obscure trait.
http://www.whatstheharm.net/ - When some new age freak wants an example on how acupuncture, astrology, or homeopathy are harmful, point them here.
http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/ - Self explanatory. I put this last because I think most people will know of it already.
1. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ Astronomy picture of the day. It's the next best thing to being there.
2. http://www.sciencedaily.com/ Science Daily, in case APOD isn't meaty enough for you.
3. http://postsecret.blogspot.com/ PostSecret. In case you aren't depressed enough yet.
"Yes, I seriously believe that consciousness is a product of a natural process. I find that the neuroscientists, psychologists, and philosophers who proceed from that premise are the ones who are actually making useful contributions to our understanding of the mind." - PZ Myers
OK I can play.
mitya.pp.ru/chamberlen/hackers/cover.html -- HACKERS Heroes of the Computer Revolution. Yes, the full book online.
www.imdb.com/ -- The Internet Movie DataBase. Just what it sounds like.
www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page -- Project Gutenberg. Another place to get older texts in ascii or pdf (among other) formats.
www.archive.org/index.php -- The internet Archive. A bunch of historians who are trying to document the history of the now and the recent formerly now. Be sure to check out the live music archive, the wayback machine and the Moving Image archive.

How can not believing in something that is backed up with no empirical evidence be less scientific than believing in something that not only has no empirical evidence but actually goes against the laws of the universe and in many cases actually contradicts itself? - Ricky Gervais

Taxation is the price we pay for failing to build a civilized society. The higher the tax level, the greater the failure. A centrally planned totalitarian state represents a complete defeat for the civilized world, while a totally voluntary society represents its ultimate success. --Mark Skousen
