The Rational Response Squad is a group of atheist activists who impact society by changing the way we view god belief. This site is a haven for those who are pushing back against the norm, and a place for believers of gods to have their beliefs exposed as false should they want to try their hand at confronting us. Tough to hear how much his voice has deteriorated.
Nice to know he's one of us.

Yes and no. With that whole kiddie porn thing a couple years back he's a questionable ally. As broad as his audience is there's always going to be that nagging question. While the theists have their fair share of pedophiles amongst them we still have the larger hurdle to overcome and he'll just be added to Stalin and Pol Pot on the list of evil atheists.

Heh... I forget the theist double standard. Never mind that half of the Vatican has molested boys. If an atheist does anything bad, it proves atheists are less moral than theists.
Personally, I'm glad when anyone is an atheist because that means there's one less theist in the world. But then, I don't buy into the fallacious arguments about morality, so why would it bother me?

Word. That's the bitch of the genetic fallacy. Sometimes even the most evil and / or stupid among us have brilliant ideas. It's a tough choice between principles and guilty pleasures.

All he said was "entertainment will replace religion".
I wouldn't be so quick to hinge the word atheist based on that. Plenty of "spiritual" people say they don't go to church or support organized religion.
HAVING SAID THAT, mentioning "the promise of technology" might lend to that.
BUT, I'd have to learn more about him from other sources and or actually hear him say, "I am an atheist". If he did use that in this clip, I must have missed it.
Not saying his attitude isn't a step in the right direction. Just wouldn't myself, be so quick to use the word atheist in the context of this particular clip. Are their other interviews or sources for him and his band on religion and god belief?

It's pretty convenient how you get to choose your allies but we do not.

We're not choosing anything. All I'm saying is that should we excercise the appeal to authority / popularity fallacy it might be a good idea not to use a suspected pederast as our poster boy because we know how fond you theists are of your ad hominems.

You forgot that when religious people do bad things, it proves that they are atheists, and as such, proves that atheists are immoral.
You can't "win" against the majority of theists; it's like playing a card game with a two year old who doesn't grasp the concept of fair rules.
