The god of Abraham doesn't laugh!

This is just something I've never quite understood, and so any theists representing the god of Abraham please give me your 2 cents.  What exactly do you find appealing about the god of Abraham?  One of the main things I always had a problem with when Christianity was being taught to me as a child was that this god had absolutely no sense of humor. NONE, ziltch, nadda.  A sense of humor is one of the things that truly makes life worth living.  Being able to laugh, and especially so to laugh at ones self is the most appealing characteristics in a person for me and would definetly be the #1 thing I look for when choosing friends.  The bible teaches alote about this god being a companion, and friend of sort to man (well believers anyway).  I think of what kind of friend this god of abraham would be.  A quite boring, humorless, and petty one indeed.

The god of Abraham is also in no way humble.  He is from what I understand the opposite of humble, he is everything that humble isn't.  To him we are nothing.  He is also needy, and insecure.  He needs worship, he needs praise.  I can't allign a perfect deity with a non-humble, needy and insecure personality, its simply inconsistant.

I just can't for the life of me understand how anyone finds the god of Abraham appealing in anyway.  So what is it about this god you guys like so much?

The only reason I can see...

The only reason I can see why someone would actually like the god of Abraham is that they hate everything on this planet including humans. Without that hatred of life, I can't see why you would like their deity.

"This may shock you, but not everything in the bible is true." The only true statement ever to be uttered by Jean Chauvinism, sociopathic emotional terrorist.
"A Boss in Heaven is the best excuse for a boss on earth, therefore If God did exist, he would have to be abolished." Mikhail Bakunin
"The means in which you take,
dictate the ends in which you find yourself."
"Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government! Supreme leadership derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony!"
No Gods, No Masters!

  Upon asking this question

Upon asking this question to a couple Christian friends it became quite apparent very quickly that they couldn't really point anything out they liked about him either.  Their position on the matter basically boiled down to "Well, the god of Abraham IS the only true god, and since we can't pick or choose which god is real and which god's aren't then we have to "like" him if we want everlasting life."  So the only thing they find appeling about the god of abraham is that they don't have to die.  Again this is what it always boils down to in the end, not dying.  Fear!  Fear of death/hell/god's wrath can make you like (or atleast pretend to like) boring, lame, humorless, non-humble bat shit crazy deities.

What kind of perfectly wise and elightened entity would create other entites so that they could fear him, why would he want them to fear him?  What could this all-powerful deity possibly get out of man worshipping and fearing him if he wasn't the type to get his jollies from it?
