Should be a great book, loved The End of Faith, and Letter to a Christian Nation.
Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, and Richard Dawkins were very well received on their book tours all across America. So much for a Christian nation right?
I'm pretty sure they were even well received in the bible belt states!

That was a good clip. It probably wont be to long before Harris makes it to Cobert for this new book.
I am so thrilled with where our atheist voice is vs where it was in 01.
Still love the guy though.
We need the four horsemen, and we ourselves need to speak out at every turn on every newspaper and tv website and political blogs ect ect ect. There is no such thing as a utopia and I don't see religion going anywhere any time soon. But it is nice to see that believers increasingly are having a much harder time demonizing non-believers and a harder time selling their superstitions.
But as an aside to Harris, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF JAKE, GIVE UP ON THE BUDDHIST WOO STUFF. You give me a lip twitch. "There is something there" Sam Harris........YEA and the sky is blue, but what does that have to do with Buddhism being credible?

Really is good to see disbelief growing in popularity, especially among young people. Tech savy kids have access to information at their finger tips so the "social networking generation" will spell the decline if not the overall death of religiosity in my opinion. As for Sam Harris position on Buddhism I think he is referring to the mind state achieved during meditation as being "something" worth exploring. He doesn't mean it in a metaphysical sense like it's mystical or something. Buddhism is credible as far as meditation goes, the re-incarnation stuff is bs obviously. But the mind states achieved through zazen meditation can be very beneficial to humankind and should be further explored. Also Buddhist are atheist so that's extra kudos to for them!
I think Sam is trying to objectify moral by quantifying it, thus taking it out of hard relativism on one hand and on the other removing religion monopoly on moral issues. I enjoyed the clip very much. Though I don't agree with:
"The only people on the planet who think there are truly right answers to moral values are religious demagogues who think the universe has only 6000 years old" - Sam Harris
