I Am The Sheep That Got Lost

I was there for the altar call

I was there for the sinner’s prayer

I was there for salvation

I was there for the baptism of the Holy Spirit

I was there for communion

I was there for confirmation

I was there

Jesus was in my heart

I answered the call

I served the poorest of the poor

I fed the hungry

I clothed the naked

I visited the sick

And those in prison

I gave away my earthly possessions

And followed the Messiah

Washing feet

Doing as he had done

I prayed with the heart of a true disciple

I was the real deal

If anyone dares to dispute that

Then they bring into question their own authenticity

As difficult as it may be to believe

My faith was deep

But now it is no longer

I am the sheep that got lost

There is no shepherd

No God

To carry me back
