The Ten Commandments: A Travesty
The faceless drone who first put the Ten Commandments together from the lists of rules in Exodus and Deuteronomy obviously thought promotion of the faith took precedence over human morality.
The first five commandments are no more than a blatant attempt to elevate dogma to the level of 'goodness'. Only at commandment six do we start getting any advice but it's shithouse advice for the most part.
Respect your parents, don't kill, don't screw anyone if you're/who is married, don't steal and don't make shit up about your neighbour.
And that's it. The best advice the majestic mind of god can manage. Some one pass me the sick bags.

Ten Commandments does not mention rape, abuse of children, racism, sexism, slavery, and torturing others among other things.
Thou shalt not steal does not say what to do if a person is starving to death and sees an opportunity to take something
Thou shalt not kill does not say what to do in defense of your own life and family. (Odd that the Old Testament god that killed so many would be concerned with killing anyway).
Honor thy father and mother does not say what to do if you grow up in an abusive household. What about children that have parents that have tried to kill them ? What about parents that have utterly disregarded the safety of their children ? What about parents that have sexually molested their children ?
The Thou shalt not covet ones seems to be invoking Orwellian ideas of thoughtcrime. If you think something, your automatically guilty of the act. Wow, can you imagine a justice system that convicted people simply for what they THOUGHT about doing ?
Funny that cultural ideas against killing, lying and stealing were all present long before Christianity or the Old Testament.
Meh, the Ten Commandments are pretty useless. The Theist idea that these silly old ideas are a basis for a society and morals is pretty absurd.
