All one can do to defend that book of myth IS to cherry pick, which I why I cut to the chase and attack the fantastic claims, specifically the big three.
1. An all powerful invisible disimbodied brain with no brain and magical super powers.
2. The virgin birth claim
3. The claim of Jesus surviving death
Once you focus on those issues they cannot claim metaphor and have to deal with the logical fallacies and scientific inconsistencies. It becomes much harder because the focus is on the core claims that lead to the rest of the yellow brick road.
