We've argued enough philosophy to generally agree that philosophical thought processes cannot establish how long it takes an egg to boil, cannot unravel the genetic code of the cockroach nor yet establish the design of the lightest yet strongest bridge.
WLC simply asserts atheists (he means Dawkins, Hitchens and Co) are intellectually inferior to him because their arguments are not philosophically sophisticated. By this he means that their arguments don't accept the veracity of Kalam - personal first cause.
Without getting into the cosmological argument I am yet to be convinced that philosophy can tell us anything meaningful about the nature of the material world and as a monist, there's nothing else I'm interested in hearing about.
There's no doubt philosophy people are conceptually clever but insisting their anthro conceptions (philosophy not epistemology) can offer fundamental truths about the underlying nature of the universe has never been supported by the facts.
It's the dearth of facts in philosophy that makes it such an appealing playground for people like WLC - a man who talks like he believes dinosaurs existed but scoffs at the scientific method whenever it suits him to do so.

you are highlighting a philosophical case I made elsewhere that supports an alternative contention to the position I outline above - the former case suggesting that philosophy seeks to inform us of how we know we know - when evidence supports what we believe is true and reveals in part or whole, material truth.
Of course, I have been reading some Popper and am no longer entirely in possession of my senses...
