Equation problem

Hello everyone,

I still read the posts on here but have not really had the time to post between school and work. Glad to see the site is still as busy as ever.

Anyway, I am having this equation problem with integers and have no clue as to how to begin solving it. I know there are enough geniuses on here that they could at least point me in the right direction of what I need to do, to begin. I also have to explain what would happen if I tried to work it out in the wrong order.

The equation is :

-7-64 divided by 8x2 to the third power +4 =

I don't even know how to begin this and my instructor is of no help to me whatsoever.

I have two days to explain all of it. One particular student told me the answer was -67, but of course could not tell me how she arrived at that, due to the fact that it would be cheating. If someone could just explain to me how to proceed with this problem, help would be greatly appreciated.

Google calculator did the rest

(-7) - ((64 divided by8) x (2 to the third)) + 4 = -67

(-7) - ((64 /8) * (2^3)) + 4 = -67

-7-64/8*2^3+4 =

Google calculated works from the normal search box. You can type in almost anything like:
