Nudity and Reality TV
Offline I have noticed a recent trend (well recent to me, I don't watch a lot of tv) of reality shows being done nude. I'm a little confused. Nudity is great, it makes everything sexier or funnier and I am a huge supporter of anyone who wants to take off their clothes anytime, anywhere. Guy running across a soccer field? Not funny. Guy running naked across a soccer field. Funny. But what is the point? They strip naked and then blur everything out, you can see more if they wore a bikini or speedo. What is the point?!?!?

I completely agree. I read about two dating shows that were going to be done in the nude and I chuckled. Until I saw the networks they were going to be on, and scratched my head. No it wasn't HBO, it was Faux and CBS or NBC or something, the kind of network that won't show nudity. Wtf lol.

yeah, censors think that showing skin is horrible but then you put a black bar over it and it makes it all better. So they leave a think piece of cloth of the area and it is suddenly "ok".
Ever read comic books as a kid? The CCA came along and said "you can't do this" so the comic book creators worked around it and created better, more erotic, more sexual comics just by putting a color other than flesh color. There were still the same buldges.
to do with sex it sells. Where would TV (entertainment) be if there were no such thing as genitals.

dude, i have late '70s issues of savage sword of conan to thank for my sexual awakening. i'm pretty sure i audibly gasped "tits!" when i found them in my cousin's closet.

Yeah I have a couple of them in my collection. I loved stuff like Vampira and Vampirelle.
Funny story... my parents used to stop at Albertsons each Sunday and while they would go off and shop I was down on my knees picking through the comics trying to use my time wisely to find the best ones. I'd sit there for around 90 minutes while they shopped and eventually my legs would go to sleep.
One day I was done with my comics so I looked at the "car" mags because they always had some big tit model in a bikini bending over a Chevy Impala, etc. I used to really go ape on those, but there was this mag called Easy Rider and it was cycles and babes. I picked it up and started to look through it.. HOLY CRAP BATMAN! VAGINAS! LOL. I didn't tell any one and kept it a secret until I guess one day the management found out. I came in and the Easy Riders were in bags and behind the counter.
lol yeah, i'm pretty sure way back in the day that easy rider was the magazine you could send off to for david alan coe's incredibly pornographic and racist album. it wasn't available anywhere else.

Based on all the other work he has done I believe Underground was a phase for him, like many artists do.
Money thats why, reality TV is running out of ideas. But it is the cheapist overhead in TV production. I don't care about the nudity, I've been to nudist camps and nude beaches mysefl. Hate reality TV no matter what the marketing scam it sells.
