Look at California, they offered free or nearly free college since the 60's, they turned into a place the middle class can not afford to live, only billionaires can live a good life there.
When education is 'free', the students don't study as hard as when they pay themselves. They don't study something that the economy needs, they take advantage of free.
They offered free healthcare for the poor, so they had millions upon millions of immigrants go there for the free stuff. Too few healthcare providers too many people that only want free stuff. So you work and pay a lot for healthcare but you still can't see a doctor.
Is this what you want for all of America?

How else do you implement government programs that take over the economy with massive taxation, mandatory wages? You have to hire thugs willing to kill all oposition.
