Flight of the Bumblebee

Calculations made in the 1930s at the University of Gottingen seemed to prove that it was aerodynamically impossible for a bumblebee to fly. Bumblebees, of course, continued to fly about with blithe disregard for these results!

Since we are rationalizing everything, should we believe a bumblebee can't fly?  I find this thought provoking.  Any comments?

Athough part of the article

Athough part of the article you quoted from says the attempt in 1996 was refuted, it apears that the "Bumble bee paradox" has been solved.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/01/31/nbuzz131.xml

You know what's funny? If you type "Bumble bee paradox" into Google, the second enty is the article you quoted, and the first entry is the telegraph article above.

Sorry, I forgot to include

Sorry, I forgot to include the source in my quote.  This also shows that one can never dig enough to find the answer.

Thanks!
