Everyone should watch and understand this.
Pat Condell pretty much sums things up rather soundly. I recommend everyone view this.

Great vid.
Henever disappoints does he?
Yea, I saw this video this morning. Thanks for posting for others; yes, an awesome vid!
I'm kinda surprised Pat doesn't seem to be quite on board with RRS; I mean, he befreinded RRS on Myspace, and he gave his blasphemy challenge, so maybe I'm wrong. But it seems to me he'd be a great asset to the RRS and what they're trying to do. I could be wrong; maybe he and RRS are talking 'behind' curtains?
At any rate, this was one of his best videos. And it isn't too far off the mark from what RRS and others are doing already anyways; sure, Kelly and Brian 'debated' w/Kirk and Cameron once, but I wouldn't call it that... I'd call it, handing them their asses. Of course RRS didn't insult WOTM, but they saw through their arguments like razor blades. As Condell was saying, if you're saying something stupid, why shouldn't others point that out?!
I loved this video.
I think theists need some clarification before they accuse us of being hatemongering bigots.
He explaind, and I agree, that he doesnt care what someone believes. I dont either. But when it comes to writing law and public policy it should not be based on dogma or opression of dissent, by mere accusation of being offended.
If someone is going to ask me, "What do you think of Ouiji boards"
If they care about an honest answer I can say, "BULLSHIT" without them thinking that I want government to arrest every nutcase who buys into that crap.
I might suggest that when he mention "blasphemey" that he include blasphemey agaisnt atheists. Not that I like ignorant statements about atheists, merely the understanding that human nature will produce such statements. I think he understands as an atheist that that is par for the course.
The ultimate issue becomes at what point do we as humans accept or deny dissent as a matter of law.
On a personal level without law, you can say what you want and spew the most vial garbage and absurtity you can think of. But what keeps opinion from becoming opression is human empathy and phycology.
I like to have control over myself. So do most humans, so the issue of conflict is not of label as much as it is the feeling of lack feeling of control. My solution is simple, you agree not to physically harm me or use goverment to tell me to shut up, I wont do that to you either.
I think on a personall level, when given the chance, most humans are capable of leaving such a personal debate to just that. I dont think we have to be polite to assume that because we arnt that we want our oposition dead. It merely means that when we are not polite, that we think they are full of shit.
"Blasphemey laws are the first sign of tryany" and I apply that logic to everyone, including atheists who would suggest criticizing them.
The theist tells us logically in their mind that we(atheists) have bugars on our noses(from a argument perspective). We as atheists say the same. We say that they are the ones with "logical bugars" on their noses.
I think that in all this "mud slinging" each accuses the other of doing, that we dont lose as a species the introspection of human nature. I cant control the brians of all Muslims or Christians anymore than they can control mine. But to expect in all situations everyone in all sides pretend that life is an "Leave it to Beaver" episode, is rediculose as well.
He, like me, is not expecting humanity to POOF become godless on his arguments. He, like me, is saying, that the time for theocracy and blaspemey laws should be put out to pasture like a rusted bucket .
Humanity needs to face this diversity. It needs to face the differances. But it need not lose site that a Christian, Muslim, Jew or atheist can be bitchy just like yourselves. It is the human condition that makes us more alike than a tribalistic label. If you can see your neighbor as having eyes and legs like you, you might bitch at them, but you wont kill them.

Great video.
As an aside: CrimsonEdge, I wish I had grown up like you: not understanding how anyone could believe this crap.

I love patcondell videos. hes always well spoken and has great points. he even hammers it to asshole atheists. I'll have to link to this video whenever someone says I should leave religion alone.
same here. luckily for me, I started to think for myself at a somewhat early age. these days, I wonder how anyone can beleive such drivel.
When god gives you lemons you FIND A NEW GOD 1 Thessalonians 5:21
<My art> <not my art><MS>
I think this Hambydammit essay can also apply to tolerant atheists. Kindness and toleration are not the same. What people think is all important and effects the whole.
With kindness I as an atheist have no toleration for god of abe. It's my moral duty to peacfully destroy that devil "religion of filthy lies", .... that's not militant, that's caring. I also tell the kids santa is just a story, cause I luv'm .....
geezz, that atheist jesus was also way insulting .... pat is like a modern stern jesus .... he signed off "peace and love to all", but he ain't soft on conspiracy ! The vid is near perfect. Thanks crimson.
