Do you people know of any good websites where I can re-learn many math categories?
I think there are like 25 different math categories that I need a good refreshing on.
from division to radicals.
fuck... now im not even sure if radicals have anything to do with math.
:|
Im just looking for a good site that will teach me how to answer all the different types of math questions...
thanks...
geometry, trig... fractions... everything...
thanks.

I can recommend a good book:
Foundations and Fundamental Concepts of Mathematics by Howie Eves.
http://www.amazon.com/Foundations-Fundamental-Concepts-Mathematics-Howard/dp/048669609X
Whenever I need to look something up on the fly, I go here:
http://www.efunda.com/home.cfm
Keep in mind the above gives you limited page views per day if you are not a memeber, but it is a kick ass site for engineers and geeks.

When I decided to go back to school I realized that my memory of even elementry math was a bit weak. What helped me alot was using this site http://321know.com/ to brush up on things, like fractions. For algebra I bought this book which I swear by. And yes, radicals are also known as square roots, heh. Good luck.
Thankk you for the help people.
its appriciated.
I am applying to college, and I will need to pass a math test because I didn't take a grade 12 math while in high school. Now that I have an idea of what I want to do in life, I find out I need a grade 12 math. So in order for me to pass teh equilavency test, I need to be prepaired, and I figured this would be a good palce to find people who know of some good sites that will help me out... so, thanks again..
and by the way. I am applying for a two year program that will get me a diploma as an Electrical Engineering Technician. Eventually I want to become a professional engineer, and work at a wind farm or someplace where power is converted to energy..... While staying the fuck away from nuclear power plants..... I am afraid of radiation...... haha..
thanks people, I'm going to check all those links out and purchase those books. I gotta learn math soon, I wanna be in school by September at the latest...
BTW...
I am still open to more site adn book suggestions.
I know there will be 25 different math categories with 4 questions from eatch category on the 100 question multiple choice test..... so.. I got a lot of freshing up to do...
Also, if there is a new way to learn basic math like multiplication subtraction etc.. im open to learning that too.... I was always slack in memorizing that kind of stuff.... I know there is this "number guy" who is absically a human calculater... and he taught himself what he knows.... If someone could pint me in a direction to learn that, that would also be kick ass as welll...
hell, even a good palce to re learn basic english grammar would be excellent for me as well.... I need to do a lot of freshing up....
thanks again and again for the help.

You might want to try an SAT preperation course, or similar standardized test, and just focus on the math part. There's a bunch of online ones if you google 'sat courses', plus bazillions of books that you could probably pick up at a local bookstore, that might help you.

I just spent $150 at amazon.com buying books on math. I bought seven different books on math. I cant wait for them to arrive.
Thanks for the SAT review idea. I will look into that. Even though I am Canadian, it will still help me. thanks for the input.
It's funny, I have worked one year on a production line, and language simply can not ocmmunicate my animosity towards assembly line work. It has motivated me to become an engineer.. so I can get the fuck away form assembly line work and into a mroe rewarding line of work....
anyways...thanks again
I even bought the AAAmath yellow number five pointed me towards. I know that will help me out a lot.
This stuff is exciting. I'm still young, (20 years old) I want to learn.... I want to ace the equilavency test, so i can get into my selected course.... I cant wait to LEARNNNNNNNN, and become a productive member of society. WOOOOOO
in my opinion, working on an assembly line is HELL......
I want work at a wind farm, or at a damn, some place that deals with power generation...... I want to give POWER TO THE PEOPLE....
even though many people don't deserve it, but that is an entirely different topic.
