Thoughts on an Atheism quotation -- your input
I created a quote a few days ago after much revision. I admire works like the Tao Te Ching and Stoic books for the ability to write very short maxims that contain a lot of information. I'm no writer, but in the process of creating some of my own maxims of life, I've tried to synthesize a number of philosophies together. Tell me what you think...
"Justify your beliefs with quality proof.
Accept truth and all its consequences.
Learn how to be happy after,
not before this.
Ignorance may be bliss;
but any grain of happiness
you can create with the hard truth
is worth much more
than an infinite cloud of bliss
based on a lie.
Always open your beliefs to revision,
for most truth is provisional
in light of new evidence."
