Babel Fish

I was bored over at YouTube and found this lovely clip from an old BBC program regarding the Babel Fish of Hitchhiker's Guide, oh and something about god, of course! I found it wholeheartedly amusing and it is also interesting to note that this idea was left out of the movie and only is on the dvd - likely because of the fear of theistic backlash. bleh I say!

I love the original radio

I love the original radio play, the books and the BBC series but that movie, well I think it missed the point. The book especially had a way of describing the most outlandish things in a way that made them prefectly mundane. The tone was all about understatement. The movie seemed to try to be a huge adventure and it lost the subtlety that made every other form of this story great.

Oh, a lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandpa!
