Was Jesus a Bastard?

If you believe the Bible about the mysterious conception of Jesus, then don't you believe he was a bastard. Afterall, Mary was not married to Jesus's father, the Holy Spirit.

If you believe that Mary was not married to Jesus's father but was impregnated by him then wouldn't that also mean the Holy Spirit committed fornication?

Well, sort of. In Christian

Well, sort of. In Christian mythology, the man and woman are joined in God's holy matrimony. The promise  the couple makes is to each and to god that they remain faithful and married to each other until death. They are not married TO god.

Yes. But thank God the Holy Spirit didn't use a condom or there'd be no Santa Clause or Rudolph.

Frosty's coming back someday. Will you be ready?

God's already kind of a polygamist, since his church is called "The Bride of Christ."  Problem is, there are what, 500 different denominations of Christianity?

Something like that has crossed my mind before.

Aren't nuns considered to be "married" to christ, also?  Don't they wear a simple ring on th third finger of the left hand when they take final vows?  Or is that dependent on the order?

To my knowledge there is no source suggesting Jesus was sterile, some sources (of to me unknown reliability) even indicate he had a family. Therefore it is likely that the Holy Spirit is of the same species as "virgin" Mary, in other words Homo Sapiens.

But if the christians keep on insisting he did, they are also insisting that the holy spirit/ghost is human (or at least we can give them a bit of a headache).
