What is the pupose of stealing this book? Do people think that it is so important to have a bible that they absolutely must steal one?
Perhaps theft is a manner to show rebellion against the Christian god and his followers. I doubt it though. Really, I think it just shows how absolutely hypocritical people can be.

That's funny. Another example of theists being hypocritical.
As long as they don?t deny the spirit as they kill and steal they?re still in the club.

Well, if they were perfect theists they wouldn't need to steal a Bible would they? I think the people stealing them would consider themselves sinners or flawed (assuming they are believers as opposed to wise asses) in some way, so it wouldn't be suprising to catch someone stealing a Bible. Afterall, if they're a believer then they actually think they're damned, so I suppose they weight the sin of stealing a Bible against whatever other sins they need to Bible to atone for (or whatever reasoning they use). So I'd say this is more "desperate" than "hypocritical".
