The most rational response to Donald Trump's attempts to regain power is to push back forcefully and decisively. Trump’s presidency was marked by a dangerous disregard for democratic norms, a blatant dismissal of scientific facts, and a consistent pattern of lying to the public. His continued influence is a direct threat to the foundational principles that uphold a free and just society.

For those of us who value reason, evidence, and critical thinking, Trump’s rise represents a dangerous shift toward authoritarianism. His baseless claims of election fraud, his attempts to undermine the Constitution, and his blatant disregard for the truth are deeply troubling. The January 6th insurrection, fueled by his lies, was a clear indication that he is willing to dismantle democracy to maintain power. This is not just about politics; it’s about the survival of our democratic institutions and the rule of law.

Moreover, Trump’s policies consistently disregarded scientific evidence, from his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic to his denial of climate change. This is particularly alarming for those of us who prioritize evidence-based decision-making. A leader who dismisses science in favor of conspiracy theories and unfounded claims is not only dangerous but also fundamentally unfit to govern.

This isn't just about voting against something;I'm actively endorsing and ecstatic to vote for Kamala Harris and other Democrats on the ballot. Her clear displays of empathy, juxtaposed against a man incapable of it, are a testament to her suitability to lead in these challenging times. Harris has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to justice, equality, and the well-being of all Americans, traits that stand in stark contrast to Trump’s self-serving, divisive nature. Supporting Harris and her fellow Democrats is not just a vote against authoritarianism; it’s a vote for a brighter, more inclusive future where science, reason, and empathy guide our policies and our nation.

We have a responsibility to stand up against these threats to reason and democracy. Trump’s actions and rhetoric are antithetical to the values we hold dear: rational thought, empirical evidence, and the separation of church and state. The only logical response is to resist his attempts to return to power by supporting candidates who respect the rule of law, value science, and uphold democratic principles. That is why I am imploring everyone who I've ever made an impact on to vote for Democrats up and down the ballot in 2024.
