'Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man'

Interesting...

edit1: perhaps I should clarify... I find this interesting because this statement basically pulls the rug out from under a particular branch of the Abrahamic Religions (even if only a little bit)

“A meritocratic society is one in which inequalities of wealth and social position solely reflect the unequal distribution of merit or skills amongst human beings, or are based upon factors beyond human control, for example luck or chance. Such a society is socially just because individuals are judged not by their gender, the colour of their skin or their religion, but according to their talents and willingness to work, or on what Martin Luther King called 'the content of their character'. By extension, social equality is unjust because it treats unequal individuals equally.” "Political Ideologies" by Andrew Heywood (2003)

I wish we had a caring

I wish we had a caring universe that was in some way looking out for us, but I don't the we have such a thing.  Because of that I will just have to do the best I can.

It's fair to say

that "caring" is a function of social groups not a quality of universes. I sometimes think that if there was a creative force it would be a vast, roiling cloud of gas rather than an anthro-style god. Any potential creator of the multiverse wouldn't give a damn about us.

why not a "cosmic egg"? A

why not a "cosmic egg"? A 'unified field' singularity from which all substance in the universe is derived? The only flaw with this theory, that I'm aware of, is that no currently understood dynamic of physics can be used to accurately hypothesize the early beginnings of the universe.

As to...

Touché

edit1: that is also to say that (Einstein's) General Relativity and (Planck's) Quantum Mechanics disagree on several vital areas, many of which I don't fully comprehend at the moment.

Darn, for some bizarre

Darn, for some bizarre reason I put 'the' instead of 'think'. In regards to "that "caring" is a function of social groups not a quality of universes.” I completely agree. Caring is what I would call social truth. If my wishes had any worth I would wish a better world for all us people, but I thing we need to make a better world for ourselves. I don't think we can count on any kind of divine being to do it for us. I must admit that I hope that I am wrong, but I will not lie to myself about what I see around me. I can't see any kind of god. Which is why I want desperately for people to make a better world for themselves. I can't help thinking that we are the best chance we have.

Neither can I, but then... I stopped caring when I was 10 (about things which I can't hope to observe, ever)
