LOL!
LOL!
Comfort has that "deer in the headlights" look. Cameron looks dubious, like he's afraid Sapient's going to bite him. Brian and Kelly look great (as well as happy).
On edit: Damn, you guys really do look great. We're lucky to have such attractive and photogenic atheists.
You guys rock.
You guys rock.
Yeah, Kirk's look cracks me
Yeah, Kirk's look cracks me up. It is interesting to note that yeah Brian and Kelly look happy yet Kirk looks bizarre and Ray doesn't look real happy at all. Course this was after the debate if I remember correctly so that may have something to do with it.
Classy people (Brian and
Classy people (Brian and Kelly of course).
Ray looks tired. Kirk looks devious.
With Kirk's shit-eatin' grin
With Kirk's shit-eatin' grin and those oh-so-shifty eyes, I wonder if he's lusting over Kelly. Sinful bastard!
Well Kelly gets the
Well Kelly gets the "hottest" vote from me. Although, Brian comes in a close second.
Is it me, or does Kirk look
Is it me, or does Kirk look almost Satan-like, ala Jack Nicolson in the Witches of Eastwick, in this picture? He just needs a couple of horns and he’s a dead ringer.
Cheers!
With that make up job, it
With that make up job, it looks like you guys spent a week in Cancun before the debate And Kelly, that dress, WOW
I've only seen kelly in
I've only seen kelly in small and/or blurry pitures....damn way to bring the hotness.... I bet they thought very un-xtian thoughts .....
Funny Kirk is looking at
Funny Kirk is looking at Brian and not the only female in the room. Maybe Kirk and Ray are a little more than fellow believers...
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
What a stunning photo of
What a stunning photo of both of you (Brian and Kelly). If you have an original size, hi-res version, I know that lots of us here on the forum would love to download and print out this beautiful image -- preferably with the two losers on the left cropped from the image entirely.
I haven't yet heard the debate, but from looking at this photo, I bet I know who came out victorious, as if I didn't know that already. Congratulations on focusing national media attention where it belongs: on the march toward atheism. I can't wait to see the show!!! I'm sure you both did us proud indeed!!!

Kirk's hand looks like it
Kirk's hand looks like it is positioned rather low. I think the look is testing whether or not he could grab a handful of Sapient ass.
I love how the shirt is split just enough to see the RRS tee underneath.
Kelly... Wow. Just wow. Always hot, but simply ravishing in that outfit. Send that pic in to Playboy.
Ray is thinking: "My gosh. I'm an atheist now because they're right about this whole thing."

Agreed on all the compliments, darth_josh.
Kelly, I thank you for making my cataract surgeries worthwhile with that fantastic picture.

I think that photo is a great example of the Atheists looking happy and intelligent with genuine smiles and the xians looking beaten with forced smiles after their ass-whupping.

C'mon, Brian is going home with Kelly and Ray is going home with Kirk. That should explain it all.

I love this pic. Ray looks like he got hit by a bus and Kirk is looking at you as if you just said dead people walk the earth, and he has to be happy about it.

You know, I don't swing that way, but I gotta agree. I am wondering exactly where certain Christian eyes were straying during the debate. If Cameron and Comfort are heterosexual, they might have been...distracted.

I agree, but I may want Cameron and Comfort on there for the humor value. It IS pretty damn funny.
Hahaha, you guys
Hahaha, you guys photoshopped the flowers on Kelly's dress!
You look awsome!!!

They increased the size of Kelly's flowers using a photo editing program.

Hi, guys. The Christian
Hi, guys.
The Christian author, Jason Gastrich, is a member on an errancy discussion board I belong to run by Farrell Till (a wonderful potential guest for a future show I might add). I shared Lefto Larry’s breakdown (I hope I got that right) about how the debate went. Gastrich has since posted a personal e-mail that he received from Ray Comfort about his take on things.I’ve asked Jason if he would be willing to pass along responses to Ray about his e-mail (especially by those members at RRS who were there) if I receive any from this discussion board. He hasn’t had a chance to say anything yet, but I thought I’d post Ray’s POV all the same.

What would a butt-whooping be without a good dose of postmortem martydom from the losers?
Dadvocate wrote: Hi, guys.
Not to sound ungratefull for your post, but few here care anything about what Jason Gastrich, the mail order "Dr.", has to say, nor is Comfort's spin on his horrid defeat all that compelling.
I have watched Fastrich thru the years play games, lose every debate he has been in, and pretend to have arguments.
bleech.
No worries...Yes, Jason has
No worries...Yes, Jason has had his run of terrible debates. He gets obliterated every month or so on our list and then feigns victory within his circle of friends. I just thought it would be nice to send a few comments to Ray via the god-line from the RRS. He might be less likely to delete them immediately if they come from Jason. Cheers!
Ray is a proven liar (he
Ray is a proven liar (he said he'd debate the existence of his god only using science and that never happened) so there's no reason to take his letter seriously.
Dadvocate wrote:Hi, guys.
Comfort's a liar. I was there, in the first row. The ABC people stated that applauding was acceptable and even expected. Theists clapped and hooted and hollared for Comfort, and Comfort didn't seem to mind. As for theists being polite, one of the most annoying assholes I've ever met was the theist who sat next to me, mumbling nonsensical arguments the ENTIRE course of the debate. And he introduced himself as a friend of Comfort's!
Maybe the reason the theists clapped less was because there was less for them to clap?
Or maybe, just maybe, it burned up Comfort to hear ANYTHING that indicated that his arguments sucked.
I can't believe he's really this immature... This is what he's reduced to? Complaining about people clapping?
As for who ignored who, Comfort and Cameron dodged question after question, even Martin Bashir called them on their dodge of the problems in the argument to design. (On the other hand, Bashir called Kelly on questions of ethics)
And when it was pointed out that religion was culture bound, all Comfort could spit out was that there were bibles everywhere... this isn't an answer to the problem of why people born in different geographical regions have different religions! It's a dodge.
Comfort did nothing but dodge all night... his argument that 'god' exists outside of spatial and temporal dimensions leaves his 'god' as a zero, a cipher... but Comfort wasn't even able to grasp the ontological dilemma there...
The realty is that Comfort is clueless, and he was forced to be in a room with people who could see through him, that's why he's pissed.
I think you have summed it
I think you have summed it up pretty well, Tod Angst, given what I saw on the Revver video and what others have said.
Also in going from what I saw on the video, maybe it wasn’t the best of ideas for Brian and Kelly to cite the bible themselves in pointing out that Christians only need to ask for forgiveness to be saved. The points they make are good in that respect, but they also give Comfort the wiggle room to peddle his soapbox theories to the choir. Perhaps his bandwagon lot will say that Brian and Kelly “also” broke the rules.
I suppose the target group for this debate isn’t necessarily his followers in this case but the many more who will see it and think for themselves. It just irritates me to no end that no matter how well the skeptic is prepared in these debates, there is always that BS wiggle room for them to assert whatever they want to stop the gaping holes in their premises.
Also, does anyone know exactly where Comfort hails from? My girlfriend is an Aussie and she says it seems like he has an Aussie accent peppered with a bit of “Yank” from living in the States. Can anyone verify this?

My view is that as soon as Comfort/Cameron went to the Bible (first and in violation of their claim), all bets were off. They brought the Bible into play and were entitled to have it used against them.
Let me add that this wasn't
Let me add that this wasn't likely a personal email to Gastrich from Comfort, but was rather a general newsletter style email to Comfort supporters. This would be fully within character for Gastrich, who never misses a chance at self-inflation. During his ill-fated campaign for governor of California, Gastrich posted a "press release" or something claiming that the Libertarian party had contacted him and asked him to join. Turns out it was just a general solicitation, and not aimed specifically at him, as he tried to claim.
As for Gastrich being a guest on the show, Brian has already spoken to that issue, and nixed it. Brian is one of three people known to be subjected to the sort of surrogate harassment in which Gastrich tries to engage, that is, posting of personal information that results in others harassing the person.
It's not my call, of course, but my reservations about putting Gastrich on the show are the same as my reservations about the alleged "Clash of the Titans II" that took place in late February at the Center for Inquiry - West. Gastrich is a low-rent intellect, and while I agree that the claims of theists and Christians need to be exposed and refuted, that's not going to be done most effectively by putting up the likes of a Gastrich and feeding his ego only to "shoot fish in a barrel" when he's roasted in a debate. It would be more effective to get the best that the Christians can offer - not the worst.

I only wish it were that simple.
Back in the mid 1990s, I signed up, briefly, on AOL. I needed to come up with a unique name. I picked up the nearest book, and it was a work by Freud. I scanned the page and picked out 'todesangst'
I tried to create the handle "todesangst', but it was a forbidden name on AOL (as it is translated into English as "death anxiety", so I ended up editing it down to todangst.
Over the years, as I've gone on to other realms on the net, I've been forced to continue using the name for the sake of continuity, when moving on from one place to another.... when I first came here, I think I tried using the name Hannibal, but for reasons I do not remember my name was once against transitioned over (from where I last resided) as todangst.

Comfort is from New Zealand, originally. He came to America in the early 90s, I think.
