Constantine: The Series
I didn't hate this movie but it isn't one of my favorites. The main reason why I tolerated it was because it was more of a "mythical" story line (it came from the DC comic realm).
I'm not sure if they could make a series using the same storyline and make it good. So many shows today are ridiculous (see Agents of Shield) or (Falling Skies) for examples.
I just can't see a half hour show and if they don't make it an hour long it will totally fail after the first season. Either way, the subject matter might keep it afloat for more than four seasons.

If they go back to the
If they go back to the source material, namely the Alan Moore Swamp Thing run that introduced the character, and the first few years of the Hellblazer series, then they might have something.
If, however, they go with the modern "new 52" version of John, then it's going to suck rather painfully.
I love John Constantine, and watching Keanu play him in the movie....kinda like watching a Dirty Harry movie starring Pee Wee Herman. Sorry, but he needs to be blond, british, and smoking like a chimney.

LMAO!!!
They couldn't do that! Reeves can't act beyond the "Ted Logan" character, especially trying to be British.

oh christ, yes. remember keanu reeves as jonathan harker in bram stoker's dracula?
i won't blame that whole movie on him, though. pretty much everyone except gary oldman and anthony hopkins sucked ass. (who was that idiot who played quincey morris as a stereotypical redneck?) talk about a movie ruined by its casting--because everything else, including the writing, was actually quite brilliant, according to this lifelong fan of all things dracula. of course, it was the early '90s and francis ford coppola wasn't exactly on a winning streak when it came to casting (sophia in godfather iii, ahem).
"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright. . . . Or maybe 'stupid' is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. In a world as weird and cruel as this one we have made for ourselves, I figure anybody who can find peace and personal happiness without ripping off somebody else deserves to be left alone. They will not inherit the earth, but then neither will I. . . . And I have learned to live, as it were, with the idea that I will never find peace and happiness, either. But as long as I know there's a pretty good chance I can get my hands on either one of them every once in a while, I do the best I can between high spots."

Yeah, Billy Campbell.
The entire movie did suck. I didn't like it at all. Winona Ryder didn't do it for me either.
Though I did like Cary Elwes.
