Food For Thought
About a month ago, I was asked a question that I don't think has ever been asked before.
While waiting to submit some paperwork so I could get my current job, a man next to me asked about the IPU lapel pin I was wearing. I told him it's a symbol for atheism, and so he asked the question which had never been asked before.
A question no other atheist (or theist, for that matter) has ever been asked.
The man, a Hispanic 25-year NYPD veteran, asked me:
You don't believe in rice and beans?
Just for the record, while I don't believe in the existence of any gods, I will go out of my way for the sake of rice and beans. Yes, I know it's a stereotype, but it's one that for the most part is true.
