It really is a shame how many European countries are putting up with the unsubstantiated demands of dumb-ass imams and self-righteous fundies. If they don't like how things are done in a country they just got in, then get the fuck out. There is a gigantic difference between protesting against something that ought to be protested, like, oh, let's say, racism, hate speech, treating women like cattle, raping them on whim (and then punishing them for getting raped) and forcing them to dress like giant pepper pots (another great quote from Pat), and protesting against something merely on the grounds that it isn't quite to your particular taste.

This reminds me of Shaw's version of the all too bastardized golden rule: "Do not do unto others as you would expect they should do unto you. Their tastes may not be the same." So to Islamic fundies and any other who wants to enforce their self-serving beliefs unto everyone else: We do not share your beliefs, we do not even like them and in light of what you want to do with these beliefs, we do not see any merit in them, so you can shove them and the holy bearded one who preaches them all the way up your glory hole with one hand, and take them out of your throat with the other.
