I was thinking about starting a thread on religion vs homosexuality.  I personally find it appalling that we don't even allow civil unions even though marriage is considered a state contract now.  And it's all because of what, three passages in the bible?  Two in the OT and one in NT? 

I mean damn, one of Jesus' favorite people Mary Magdalene was allegedly a prostitute.  There's not much of a connection between gay rights and prostitution but that said, prostitution is way more dangerous to public health, and there are a few parts of our country (USA) where it is legal.

You'd think people who find Jesus as a liberator would use their minds to end oppression towards something as simple as homosexuality.
