Principal at Christian School caught bargaining enrollment fees for sex

ABC Founder of a Christian School solicits sex for Diploma

From the video description

By Wayne Dolcefino

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The founder of a Christian school is confronted after 13 Undercover catches him soliciting sex from a parent, who's trying to get her daughter a high school diploma.

At graduation ceremonies he talks about God, but you'll hear the founder of a Houston-area Christian school not only talk about sex, but ask for it on tape.

It's the middle of the day when a white pickup truck pulls into the back of a motel on 1960. Then it goes to the very back to park for a long while. We already know who the driver is. His name is LaVern Jordan and he runs Parkway Christian School.

Dolcefino:"What were you doing there at the La Quinta."
Jordan: "I wasn't doing anything at the La Quinta sir."
Dolcefino: "Were you there?"
Jordan: "I was there."
Dolcefino: "What were you doing there?"
Jordan: "I was just driving around. Why?"

Of course when Mr. Jordan was parked all that time, we were undercover just a couple of cars away.

Dolcefino: "Were you going there to get lucky?"
Jordan: "No, absolutely not."
Dolcefino: "You weren't going there for sex?"
Jordan: "No."

The woman getting in Jordan's passenger seat is a parent who's been trying to get her 18 year daughter enrolled in Jordan's school.

"She hadn't passed the TAKS test and she hasn't got all her credits, that's the reason we are going to that school," the mother told us.

A fee to the school and some course work can get students a diploma without passing the required state test at Parkway Christian School, where the Web site boasts, "a program based on Christian character, morals, values and integrity."

Dolcefino: "How long were you talking to him before sex came into it?"
Mother: "No longer than five or ten minutes."
Dolcefino: "What were you thinking?"
Mother: "This man has got to be crazy."

Now back to Jordan.

Dolcefino: "There's no tape?"
Jordan: "Will you get out of my way please?"
Dolcefino: "There's no tape of you and this woman?"
Jordan: "No. Wayne will you please move? No."
Dolcefino: "Well, you're going to hear it."

And so are you.

Jordan on tape: "Do you have sexual relationships often anymore? Are you seeing a man now?"
Mother: "No. Nuh-uh."

Jordan had already promised to waive the $300 school enrollment fee for a much different kind of payment.

Jordan: "For the uh, enrollment fee and stuff like that, maybe you and I can do something, you think?"
Mother: "Yeah, what, I mean what, what, you gonna wipe out all the fees?"
Jordan: "All the enrollment fees."
Mother: "All the enrollment fees?"
Jordan: "Three hundred dollars."
Mother: "So you gonna wipe everything if me and you get together?"
Jordan: "The enrollment fee, yeah."
Mother: "Ok."
Jordan: "If you and I get together."
Mother: "What you mean? I mean, what?
Jordan: "Excuse me and I don't mean to be so blunt but I am talking about f----- you."
Mother: "You talking about what?"
Jordan: "F------ you."

"I couldn't believe someone was saying such things like that," the mother told us. "I couldn't believe it."

And the tape shows Jordan wasn't just talking about a one time thing.

Jordan: "For the $300 I would expect maybe we could get together several times, you think?"
Mother: "Several times, whatcha mean several times?"
Jordan: "Well I don't know, you might like whatcha getting."

Jordan was ready for action right then.

Jordan: "If you're not in like just a great big hurry, I know uh, of a place not too far that we can go and I can just do that we can just do some play around a little bit. Would you like that?"
Jordan: "We could go and we could do some t--ty play."

Jordan wanted to make sure no one else would know.

Jordan: "Nobody else will know nothing?"
Mother: "Nuh-uh."
Jordan: "Can I touch you?"

But our parent will make Mr. Jordan wait for his sexual rendezvous and this time she'll be carrying our hidden camera and microphone.

"I was meeting with him specifically for y'all to expose him to the world and to those parents sending their kids up there," the mother told us.

Thursday at 10pm, the rendezvous we caught on tape. You won't hear it anywhere else.

I read this the other day.

I read this the other day.  Too bad she didn't call Chris hansen from Dateline NBC and set up a showdown at the Motel 6.  If Lavern wants to teach abstinence to the kids, a shot of their principal naked just might do it.

...Well, it's hypocritical,

...Well, it's hypocritical, but I don't see how 'That's just awful!' comes into it. Personally, I'm not really concerned over whether or not people exchange sex instead of money for goods/services.

This just in...

This just in...we've been getting reports about a scuffle between a pot and kettle concerning whose blackness is greater. We'll keep you posted on this story as more develops.

If somebody wants to get into the sex industry, I support it as long as there are measures taken to protect those involved, which is one of the reasons that I agree with you about legalizing prostitution. (Or maybe you're an anarcho-capitalist and think the free market is sacrosanct)

However, we're not talking about prostitution here. This is closer to extortion. If I go to you offering sex for money, that may be acceptable. If I offer a known prostitute money for sex, that can be acceptable, too. However, a principal at a Christian school talking about waving a $300 fee in exchange for sex isn't just illegal, it's hypocritical and unethical. If it were my mother or my sister, I'd probably punch that guy in the face.

How would you like it if you went to a doctor, and he said you needed surgery that wasn't covered on your insurance, but said that he would perform the operation if you sucked his dick a few times? In the report, the man said that he should be able to have sex multiple times for the $300 fee. Think about how much dick you would have to suck for a $20,000 operation?

There are limits to the free market. Some things that may be profitable aren't very good for society or for one or more of the "free" agents involved in the given transaction. If all you believe in is free market economics, then selling crack to little kids is a viable career choice.  Thankfully, in this society, we have more than just property rights, we have human rights, civil rights, labor rights, and other rights.

Well, extortion is too strong a word here, in my opinion. The principal didn't say, "He can't enroll unless you have sex with me," He said, "I'll waive the fee if you have sex with me,"

The mother is then left with a completely consentual option: she can pay the fee, like anyone else would have to, or she can 'pay' with sex.

Assuming my doctor gave me the option, and didn't say, "I won't operate on you unless you give me a blowjob," it's hard to say how I'd react. I mean, obviously, I'd be pretty offended initially - but if I appreciated his talents, I'd probably just pay the 20K (assuming I had it) and let the operation get done.

I don't believe in a 'free market' at all, actually - but I'm not an economist, and have been known to be pretty idealistic about things, so I'm not sure I'm qualified to weigh-in on that subject.

I love how many threads have

I love how many threads have been getting into morality and ethics.

This is correct.  It's not extortion.  He's offering her three options:  Enroll the kid and pay, Enroll the kid and fuck, don't enroll the kid.  He's added an option without taking any away.  Yes, it rankles the ethical part of our brains, but let's not call it something it isn't.

Um... I think I'll get a second opinion.  Don't call me.  I'll call you if I need you.

Depending on your state, you might get a more severe punishment than he did.  Hard to prove what he said without a recording, and the bruise is damn good evidence that you punched him.  (Not to mention, he's a good Christian.  The jury would feel pity on him because the mean old atheist punched him.)

This is one of those neat examples of human society being at odds with human evolution.  The model I subscribe to suggests that humans developed big brains as they developed a rather intricate sexual courtship ritual involving the trade of hunted meat for sex.  Marriage is essentially a war of attrition.  Both the male and the female are giving up things they would like to do in exchange for other things they want, and they tend to give up as little as they can to get the most possible.  We condone it because that's the way people are, and long term bonds make childrearing easier.

That's all this dude was doing, really -- just without the long term commitment.  It's no skin off his nose if he lets one kid into the school without paying $300.  He's giving up very little.  If the woman gives him a few rolls in the hay, he gets a big return for very little investment.  If the woman isn't repulsed by the guy, and doesn't feel like sex outside of marriage is a big deal, it might be the same kind of thing for her.  If she doesn't have the $300, a couple of hours of having sex buys an awful lot -- a semester of school.  (Or was it a year?  Whatever.)

Come to my town.  I'll introduce you to at least a dozen girls who, given the right opportunity, would gladly suck your dick in exchange for a big favor.  I'm not talking about prostitutes or wannabe homeless teenagers.  I mean good looking college girls who don't have daddy's big check book and are trying to keep up with the sorority girls.  Having nice clothes means a lot to them -- more than sex.  Call it shallow if you like.  (It might well be.)  But, it exists.  I'd be willing to bet this principal has had his weenie waxed a couple of times before, and he's just now getting caught.

The flip side:  If the principal is married, he's cheating on his wife.  That's objectively wrong by the standards of the marriage contract they entered into.  If he's preaching to the children, telling them that sex outside of marriage is always wrong, he's being hypocritical.

Again, without knowing state laws, I can't say for certain, but I'm betting that the worst they could get him on would be solicitation of prostitution or something like that.  As long as it's on tape that he left the option for her to pay open, it's not extortion.

Disclaimer:  Again, I am

Disclaimer:  Again, I am not a lawyer.  I'm sure there are some examples of this being equivalent to legal extortion.  When I say it's not extortion, I mean it in a colloquial sense, where extortion is forcing someone to do something when you're in a position of power.  This woman had the option to walk away.

I don't mix legal code and morality.  They're apples and oranges.  Everybody in this thread has broken the law before and considered it perfectly ok morally.

That's part of the problem, as I see it: he's using school resources (the standard $300 fee) for personal gain (sex). If he himself is going to pay the $300, that's one thing; but to use his position to screw the school out of $300, and screw the mother, then he's guilty of theft, and of gross negligence of duty. One is criminal, the other is just ethically questionable.

You're exactly right.  The school can prosecute him for quite a few things.  I was only speaking of the woman's place in it.

Ah! Excellent.

Then we are in agreement.

The more sex, the better. Mmm.... MILFs.

Just to put a fine point on

Just to put a fine point on it, the woman doesn't know if he's going to pay the $300 or not.  From her point of view, she's being asked to trade sex for $300.  Other than that, she isn't being forced into anything.  If he hadn't made the offer, her only choice would be to not enroll her kid.

I'm not defending him.  I'm just trying to separate the acts into their various parts.  If it was my school, I'd fire him and probably prosecute him.

That's completely correct. As far as the woman is concerned, it's merely one more option, with perfectly acceptable (though creepy) behavior. He is guilty of being a douche. It's just that simple. That aspect of the whole affair (hah! Pun!) is, well, not innocent, but not criminal, either. Just creepy.

I get where you're going, and I'd have to agree with you completely.

I suppose if I have a major

I suppose if I have a major point it's this:  This story is not about sex.  The media and the theists are making it about sex, as if the act of asking the woman to have sex was the morally outrageous thing.  It's not.  Consider that if she had taken him up on it, she would have found the offer more attractive than creepy.  All the man was doing was trying to get laid, as far as she was concerned.  It's just like going out to bars.  Show me a girl looking to get laid, and fifty prospective guys that are all going to try the same (slightly brash) approach on her.  (She's magically going to forget each one of them after they happen.)  About forty of the guys are going to be dismissed as creepy losers.  The ones she finds attractive are going to be viewed as bold and daring.

Again, tell me an act you think is un-sexy and I'll find you somebody who thinks it's a big turn on.  I guarantee I can find you somebody who thinks it's naughty and exciting to have sex with a married principal in the school office.

Here's where it gets a bit tricky with the school.  Suppose he did pay the $300 tuition?  No harm no foul by the school's admissions office.  Since the act never happened, we truly don't know what he was going to do.  (Ok, we know... but legally we don't know.)  All that's left is to prosecute him for being a douche.
