AthiestNexus Group Controversy
When I joined AthiestNexus I was aware of some controversy regarding the founder's background. A few quick intener looky-loos dissuaded my concerns. Now, just recently I found that there was yet another controversy. This time it was on the new administrator's intentions with the site (more info: http://atheistblogger.com/2008/08/02/why-i-left-atheist-nexus/). Another browse about led me to the same author's eventual retraction and apology (here: http://atheistblogger.com/2008/08/05/the-atheist-nexus-explanation/). He also suggested starting another network using a different service than Ning.com.
Whaddya' think?

I think we should all read Kelly's blog and go sign up on rationalresponders.ning.com.
Ah, there's an RRS ning now. Awesome.
Why does it seem like I am among the last to hear about such things?
"Anyone can repress a woman, but you need 'dictated' scriptures to feel you're really right in repressing her. In the same way, homophobes thrive everywhere. But you must feel you've got scripture on your side to come up with the tedious 'Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve' style arguments instead of just recognising that some people are different." - Douglas Murray
If I unsubscribed to every web group or stopped donating to sites that had these types of accusations thrown against them, I guess I would have less forums and blogs to keep up with and have a few more bucks in my pocket.
I don't donate to atheist nexus however I will continue to hold an account there just as I do at the rationalresponders.ning

IMO there is a much bigger issue with Atheist Nexus than all this conspiracy crap - every page takes ages to load over there.
