Go have fun this weekend

...Given a small few small but jarring wake-up calls lately about how fleeting things really are (...both civilization and life in general), I've decided to just start passing a message along:

Make sure you're having as much fun right now as is reasonably possible. If you haven't been taking the world by storm recently, for whatever reason, there's no time like the present.

Church-going theists? Skip church this Sunday. Go do something fun (do something fun with your whole family if you have one). Just for this one weekend. You can't tell me that God won't mind you doing it just this one time (if you must, worship while you're entertaining yourself).

Quote:
"Natasha has just come up to the window from the courtyard and opened it wider so that the air may enter more freely into my room. I can see the bright green strip of grass beneath the wall, and the clear blue sky above the wall, and sunlight everywhere. Life is beautiful. Let the future generations cleanse it of all evil, oppression and violence, and enjoy it to the full."

Oh it's already started

Went out to Bloor/Keele area for a live show, it was a good night and going to get even better tomorrow, heading to the club scene with 2 friends of mine and a bunch of 21 year old women in a limo (and apparently it's all being covered because it's one of the girls birthday) so yeah, I am planning to have a GREAT weekend Laughing out loud. As for everyone else, enjoy it well.

exxxotica

In keeping with the theme, I would like to invite everyone in the NY area to the Exxxotica Expo www.exxxoticany.com ...I am giving a seminar on negotiated non-monogamy tonight at 8:30 called "UnLEARN Vanilla Marriage" ....drop by the expo (which for some reason is in NJ) ...meet some porn stars...get your freak on...or just have a few laughs....if you're so inclined, drop by my lil' talk...I give religion a nice dressing down (as it pertains to marriage).

But if you do, make sure to intorduce yourself.

It doesn't take money to go get lost in a local park and appreciate the beauty around you.  I find that helps me enjoy life.  Thanks for the reminder Kevin.

It may be almost a wonder,

It may be almost a wonder, but I got out this weekend. Young people from all the republic had a travelling festival, they picked a city, cleaned it, organized a concerts there, fire shows, fireworks, workshops, games, tearooms, and so on. I had heard about it lately, so I only managed to get on this last, ending day evening, but it was nice nonetheless.
It was a Christian activity, btw, but I believe in diversity of people, so I can annoy equally all kinds of them Smiling
I arrived to the city square, there was a scene with a band(s), dancers and moderators. Music was mostly hip-hop, rap, hard rock, and so on. Not very intellectual, and for my taste, too many hands in a crotch, but if a person is brave enough to appear publically and commit music, it deserves respect. Speaking of appearing publically, one moment on the podium there suddenly came an older lady, in her 50-60's, and interrupted the hip-hop. She started to argue with a singers/dancers and moderators about something, for a long time. I really have no idea what she wanted, she didn't speak loud enough and they didn't borrow her a microphone. (though I yelled at them to do it) I heard something about somebody calling the police, to take her away. This lady refused to leave, resisted the efforts of moderator to guide her away from the scene, and even tried to push him away in one moment, which was hilarious. It became rather funny, as the lady looked like she enjoyed the public attention and accepted it with a smile, though her keys kept falling on the floor, and the people in the crowd screamed to push her down, off the podium. Eventually, with a great applause, she agreed to go and the cultural programme continued. It was an interesting intermezzo, but they really should give her a microphone, so people could hear what she was talking about. What has an old lady to say to the crowd of hip-hop listening adolescents???
So, between the bands there was a bit of theism in the songs and speech, but rather liberal, positive and abstract, and Jesus and prayer. It was an awful cold weather there, so when the evening progressed, I left with other people some streets back, into one of big tents, arranged as a tearoom. I sat there alone at a small table, warming myself by a candle, and then by a cup of green tea, given there freely by young female theists. After a time, the tearoom (or teatent) got rather full and a group of people sat at my table. (cardboard-clad fruit boxes) We greeted each other, introduced, had a peaceful talk, specially with one guy at first, who was in charge of bringing the tents down next morning.
Then, I had a similar chat with one hot theist girl, and when she left, there came other, also hot theist girls and I talked with them too. Of course, these people were generally good-hearted, not fundies, fun to hang out with, and as for the girls, good looking. I've screwed up my social contacts, (by not being in love with pubs, smoking and getting drunk unconscious) so I've got to make some new, possibly with people who aren't future alcoholics. If it comes with a bit of theism, well, why not, it's not that bad around here. Let's see who will spoil who.

Beings who deserve worship don't demand it. Beings who demand worship don't deserve it.

ehhh...i work the weekends

ehhh...i work the weekends and usually have two days off in the week so i will do this then, The other day me and my friends hooked up and just went out and drove around and listened to some old school punk and just talked about random stuff.  I haven't had as much fun this year as normal because my family did plan a camping/canoe trip this year. That is usually the most fun i have, just being outside in the woods away from everything, the peace and tranquility is wonderful and usually a much needed therapy for lack of a better word.
