Despite the first round finish, Arlovski was quite competitive. Not quite the 40 second execution many were expecting. Overall, it was a great night of competition, although I think Affliciton should seriously reconsider their decision to use a ring, as it just doesn't seem like a safe and secure environment for a competition involving grappling.
I know Paul Buentello is not all that popular, but I'm a fan of his, and he was really on Saturday night.

If god can do anything, can he make a hot dog so big even he can't eat all of it?
Kudos to the big Belorussian. Arlovski deserves all the credit in the world for his skilled effort to defeat Fedor.
Funny that Fujita, who hails from the equivalent of the Japanese WWE ( ie, fake wrestling ) was so far the only fighter to legitimately rock Fedor...and then was quickly made to suffer for that experience by being kicked, punched and then rolled over and choked with such force that his face turned sickenly dark.
Safe and secure? o_O what could possibly go wrong?
What Would Kharn Do?
Yeah. I'm obviously really surprised. Arlovski is a great kickboxer, and he's in great condition, and he's huge ... but Fedor just gets the game better than anyone else. What's funny is that he's used the same techniques in every single fight, and nobody seems to be catching on. Like Arlovski, everyone just attacks him with straight boxing, and Fedor (every single time!) strikes the jaw with the same arsenal of overhands or hammerfists, or goes for the quickest and easiest submission available to him.
... because that's how you win. So until someone as smart as Randy Couture can pick him apart (like Couture did to the seemingly unbeatable Vitor Belfort) he's going to keep doing the same thing, and he's going to keep winning.
The only one who stood a chance was Crocop, and that was in his prime. And that was an incredible fight. I don't think I've ever seen a fight that was that intense for that long ever.

If only Crocop's stamina were in its prime, too... it would've been even better.
I remember his corner shouting in Croatian "Don't let him see you can't [fight anymore]!" Damn...
He seems to have stamina problems lately, even though he doesn't want to admit it...
