Read this about Ray's new toilet paper without laughing I DARE YOU!

http://www.christianpost.com/Education/General/2009/02/christian-evangelist-s-book-ranked-bestselling-atheist-item-14/

According to this "critic" cheerleader for a Christian "newspaper"(propaganda machine)

Quote from the article:

Quote:
He believes the key in witnessing to atheists is to appeal to their conscience, rather than their intellect.

What does our conscience have to do with it? Does he think we will burn him at the stake or something? NO MORON, it has everything to do with EVIDENCE which requires intellect, and treating a fairy tale like a science textbook is not intellectuall at all.

Here is another gem from this "critic".

Quote:
"We don't have to prove that God exists to the professing atheist,"

THEN QUIT BITCHING WHEN WE SAY YOU HAVE NO EVIDENCE.

The link appears to be busted.

But I will say that I quite consider my conscience to be part of my intellect. I don't think it's possible to appeal to one and not the other.

Nobody I know was brainwashed into being an atheist.

Why Believe?

The link Brian posted worked for me. It led to the Christian Post website.

Frankly, this makes me happy. Conscience is one of the weakest things that Christians have. It's been proved ad absurdum that morality and ethics stem from culture and experience, not a fictional sky daddy. Go ahead Ray, arm your followers with tooth picks. They'll come in handy when we're picking our teeth of the remains of your troops.

What scares me is that it is a best seller. What's next, a best seller that claims Elvis is still alive?

Well it could be worrying I agree, but then I wonder just how many of those sales are people buying the book to refute it. There are definately a lot more people against Ray than with him, even within his own religion. Also, the time it spends up there will be another factor. If it spends a few months up there, then I'll be worried. If it drops off big time after a month, then I'll know it's not a problem.

This is an interesting

This is an interesting quote:

"In the book, he compares being an atheist to playing Russian roulette with all barrels loaded.

"An atheist can’t win. Of course, he feels and acts like a big player, until the trigger is pulled," asserts Comfort, who runs a blog called "Atheist Central."

"The issue isn’t the existence of God. If the atheist is wrong and there is a Creator, then he was wrong. He gambled and he lost. No big deal. The real gamble is that there’s no hell. That’s what makes the player sweat just a little. 'What if?' is the deep and nagging doubt.""

He almost stumbles into some mental judo regarding Pascal's Wager, but misses the opportunity. Before I read on I was expecting him to make the case that at least the Christian leaves himself a small chance of redemption, while the atheist shuns any and all possibility of it. But then he just rehashes the argument rather than build on it. Perhaps I gave Ray too much credit.

"Faith, Faith is an island in the setting sun,
but proof, proof is the bottom line for everyone."
Proof, Paul Simon

Nothing this hard should taste so beefy.

If mental gymnastics were an Olympic sport in order to justify his myth, he would get gold. Fortunatly for us, the Olympics have not tapped into that heroin.

He is already in a mental barrel, unfortunatly it is made of wood and the falls are delusion that make Niagra look like a squirt gun.
